I have recently transitioned from Windows XP to Ubuntu Linux. I am not not able to use some windows apps for which linux version is not available. Is there a nice emulator program that I can use for this? I have tried using WINE, but WINE does not support all application (and the win application that I want to install is one of them) and therefore not useful for me? Which emulators do you use? Which one would you recommend?

not all application intended for windows will run on linux even on using emulators, it is the sad fact, your best options is to look for linux counter part of a specific application you want to run, e.g. openoffice = msoffice, etc.

emulators is the best way to get windows programs to work on linux but the do not support all linux programs. for the ones that it does not support the best or only option you have is to go to there web site and cheak for linux compatible programs. or you will have to opt for alternate programs. like using open office org instead of microsoft office
