are people around you educated?

education - does the education really spreading?
India
April 5, 2010 10:35pm CST
these days there's a buzz of spreading education in every country by the nation government. they supply a huge amount of money for educating the poor in the lowest amount to make the country educated. government courts pass a bundle of laws in this context. but do you really think that this is helping out? are the people of low cast around you really getting any sort of education or these money are going in the pockets of the middle men only. its a matter of real worry. please share your experience..

our government only spends very little for our education, like less than one centavo per child... that is why many people here are illiterate. But the literate ones like Efren Pinaflorida help others who can't afford to go to school..it's a good thing many people are concerned about the less fortunate ones here.because the efforts of our government at the present is not really seen; but it's still not enough...

I think they are educated in some aspect of their life but limited one. It is only a propaganda or platform of the government to spread education in our community but our we benefited in the education that they gave us or we need to upgrade it to some level of expertise like American Education so that we are all competitive in all jobs.

Hi Ayush Banka, I don't think so that people around me is educated. Most of people are still illiterate and those who are educated, many of them seems they don't have manners. But yes, there are some people who are really decent and well mannered people whom I really appreciate. They know how to cope up with these things when things goes wrong. They are really helpful. The uneducated people around me are of course helpful but in different way. Thanks.

People around me are educated but sometimes they act like they are not. I think education is far more than what we get at school. It also has something to do with values that we learn from others and values that we learn from church. Education is important but it is more important to show how educated we are and not forget about the things that we learned that makes us educated cause sometimes its frustrating to know that some people are educated but they act like they are not.

Yes most people around me are educated, indeed and in words,I can say that they can be a good person to speak with and to get along with,,But there are people around me whose not really educated but can act like one, education doesn't make sense when dealing with people its how to handle oneself, a sense to make a better person in thought and indeed, education will count and make sense when dealing with academic success but in many cases education of person came from learning things to another and make the best of it to him/herself. Good day!

India too is investing a lot of money in educating the masses but education only will never help in uplifting the conditions of the people and make them part of civilized society. Upbringing, family values, character building, decency, mannerism…all these can never be learnt at school if not taught at family level. I feel this is an area where most of our people are lacking seriously. Kids from very poor sections of society are getting education but they have no idea of how to behave or conduct themselves in a civilized polite matter…they don’t know etiquette, they don’t have any idea of how a well mannered person should behave. In that sense, their education does not truly make them literate…rather it instills in them a false sense of pride and achievement and makes them more arrogant towards others.

I think they are educated but what the used if there is no job available in the place. Education and job must hand in hand in order to progress our lives.

hi ayushbanka. usually undertaken by the government to promote national ideas and issues, public education like this is one way to educate the masses. not only in far, remote places and villages but also in large, modern cities, manifested in different ways and forms. i do agree that this helps. it helps both the less educated as well as the educated. where i live now, i've experienced how such public education makes its way into our lives and debated daily over tv, radio, the internet and in schools. it's a sad thing, however, if resources devoted to such beautiful projects find their way into the pockets of some greedy middle men. it's a real matter of concern for everybody if it does happen.

Yes sure here in India everyone has the right to education and the goverment has started a policy for education free of cost until ninth grade.I think these type of policies should be launched in every country.

In our place most people are not educated they lack the resources to finish their studies and i believe even if they have the money they will still not finish their studies too. There are very few who really give weight to their education thats why most of them have the same fate.Well as for me i believe education is one of the best weapon against poverty! Thats why im trying my best just to finish and be as educated as i can be. Havea great day!

I'm in the Midwest, Northeast Ohio to be exact. I've lived in three different counties here, I think that some have put forth more effort than others. Notice I said put forth and effort not succeeded. There a various programs in different communities trying to find ways to help young people finish their education, and help older ones return. There are many uneducated around various states and cities, and this country is really going to fall apart if we can't get the young ones to complete school now and be able to speak "ENGLISH" on a regular basis. There are so many benefits to all of this technology we have and are continuing to receive, but it will be all for not, if the children of today become a slave to it.

hi ayush this illiteracy and at the same time corruption is a matter of big worry but still when it comes to govt decisions its still discriminating people by castes i belong to mumbai and here i always see that a person with mere 45% gets admission in a good or a well recognised college or you can say a brand college just because he belongs to sc,st or obc and people having more than 60%-70% dont get admission just because they belong to open caste. other than that we can also see the fees concession taken by the sc,st,obc students who belong to a rich background and the people even if they are poor dont get concession just because they are in open caste this is nothing but clear casteism my friend. and still we are not going to come out of it. so at many places we can see the policies of government are discriminating just to fill up some vote banks of some political organisations.

I think economically backward people instead of low cast! Government is giving education at free of cost to those people who are economically backward. Government is paying to the teachers directly. So no question of middle men over here. May be in the supply of food and books it is happening. This is really not a good thing. People should feel their responsibilities. Government also should keep an eye.
