I am often asked where should someone go to get great photos? If you read about the top photographers you will read that they travel the world trying to get great photos. Many times all you have to do is look in your own back yard. That is what happened to me not too long ago. I pulled into my driveway (I live in a small rural city) and I saw a flock of Turkeys in the backyard. I grabbed my camera and started to take pictures. I took several and this is the best one.

the best place? my answer is at the right place at the right time. unless you're in a studio where you can control the environment then that's different because sometimes, going to places isn't enough. sometimes you travel to places and wish you could stay there until sunset then the things would look very dramatic. or you wish the sky would be clearer and there would be a lot more sun for your pictures. you know things like that. maybe a lot of it would actually depend on luck (or very good planning) after all. but yes.. it could be anywhere. just keep the camera at the ready.
