Recently we found out the my aunt in law and my mother in law both have breast canceer. My hubby is taking it very hard and I cant imagine what he is going through. It is a hard road but luckily we are all bonding together and supporting each other to get through this hard time.
Has anyone in your family been affected by cancer? How did you all get through it?

Yes, my father and grandfather, mother-in-law, 3 aunts and 2 uncles all lost their lives to cancer. My step gran and a cousin are both bowel cancer survivors.Another cousin started her radiotherapy last week and I finished mine on Thursday. I hope that both your relatives have had their cancers detected early and will be as fortunate as i feel I have been. I had to tell my boss & apart from my immediate family (sons/husband/mum) told 3 of my co-workers & 2 of my oldest friends. The rest of my colleagues know I've had surgery, been back to work & then taken a few more weeks sick leave but thats all.
The only one of those relatives I spent a great deal of time with was my father. We did all we could to carry on as normal although, from the first diagnosis, we knew it was terminal. It broke my heart to see him ill but, every day, he would say "Keep smiling".
