Megadeth is a thrash metal band formed in 1983 by recently ousted Dave Mustaine from Metallica. Megadeth was formed for the sole purpose of competing and in my own opinion ultimately surpassing Metallica. Members: Dave Mustaine - lead vocals/ rhythm and lead vocals and a revolving group of musicians. Favorite incarnation of the band: Dave Mustaine Dave Ellefson - bass Marty Friedman - lead guitars Nick Menza - drums Recent news: I'm glad Dave Ellefson's back and Dave Mustaine finally let him back in. Megadeth's style of music is driven by twin lead guitars and almost mechanical riffing by Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman. Backed by Dave Ellefson's steady bassline and Nick Menza's tempestous drumming this band paved the way for a lot of neo political metal bands. Dave's style of singing is at times sneering and condescending and then gruff and intimidating at times. There are also times where my former bassist said whenever he hears this band it brings to mind the muppets with dave Mustaine as the cookie monster. Haha. I love Megadeth and here are my top ten songs 1. A tout le monde 2. Countdown to extinction 3. Skin of my teeth 4. Hangar 18 5. Youthanasia 6. Elysian fields 7. Train of consequences 8. Angry again 9. Symphony of destruction 10. 99 ways to die they're not really arranged in the way i like them but a tout le monde is definitely my top 1 in all it's incarnations. This is my first post about bands i like.
