Do you care about the safety of your personal informatio in this internet world?

Hi mylotters,
Nowdays, internet is very popular and some of people can leave without even for one day. We review the new, watch vedio, TV, movies, register mailbox or some store space and even business online trading. In my opinion, if we have enough money and have a computer and a internet connection, we can do most of our routing work, including reading, buying things, doing business, doing exchange and others. But when we connect to internet, we would expose our IP address. When we register something, such as mailbox or an account, we would input some of our privacy information. Do you care about the safety of our personal information.

I do care about the safety of my personal information but there are already a lot of ways for some people to see your information in the internet. But I just dont understand why some people would want to get my personal information since I'm not really famous or something. Maybe they would use my personal information to deceive me and that could be possible but I dont think they will be able to do that to me.

Hi there,
I also concern about this question why some people would want to get our personal information. In my opinion, most of them just do this just for fun, but some of them do this to steal some valueful information such as bank account, credit card accoutn, or something like this.

Sure, internet is our part of real life now. As a consequence, information safety became a common problem for online event.
Basic principle for me to protect those information are:
1, Be careful when you are using public computer.
2, Never expose your personal information in any malicious web-site.
3, Setup strong enough password.
4, Don't install any malicious software.
5, Don't visit any malicious web-site.
Note: have you noticed you are receiving more weird request after you expose your msn in mylot? Hope it's just my suspicions...;)

yes i care about this. but most of the time i could share general information of mine.
this is my habit i dont tell fake thing to any person.
even my psychology says that for the person whom with i dont want to tell the truth about me why should i do a sin of telling a lie for him. so i just dont say any thing in those cases.

Dont tell fake thing to any person. You are very appreciative to do that. Nowdays, it is really very difficult to keep that. In my opinion, i have to make a lie to keep everyone feel better sometimes, although i am also a sincere person. But your suggestion of dont say any thing is also a good choice.

Well yeah you have got to be careful now more than ever with your personal information. The Internet has improved and gained in popularity over the years, enriching our lives. However, that is a double edged sword, as there are more opportunities then ever before for people to engage in some thievery, trying to take our personal information for their own use.
If you are smart about it, there should be no worries. Unfortunately, even the most secure websites are vulnerable. The security is not the only thing that is getting smarter on the Internet. The hackers are getting smarter as well. Therefore, they are breaching information a lot more. Websites have to catch up and allow users to feel at ease.
However, we should not be dependent on the websites that we use to be the only ones who take care of our information. While we should obviously feel at ease and be able to trust them, the fact of the matter is that we have to be very careful. The Internet grows and so does crime on the Internet. It is really something that you get the bad and the good, as with anything in this world. It presents opportunities, for both good and bad.

Hi friend,
i completely agree with that internet development is also a double edged sword, which enrich our lives as well as expose ourselves. When it present us with good things,such as communication, making money or do business could possibly be out of limit of distance, it also damage ourslves, such as encouraging or stimulating some long distance crimials.

yes i do. i do care about the safety of my personal information in the net. but to participate and enjoy in, for example, myLot, do we have a choice not to divulge upon registering. and that's why investing in a good anti-spyware and anti-virus ware has never been more necessary.

Hi Suten. That would be a big yes in my opinion. Some might not realize it but everytime we use the internet, our personal information in a way will always be exposed; more so if you are not careful. There are cases when a person inputted his credit card information in a site that sells gadgets to buy something but turned to be a scam to get personal information. I think the best way to protect your personal information is not to give everything in full detail and ask for opinions first before proceeding.

hi sutent~ I do care a lot on putting up my personal info's online. I'm afraid of getting hacked because you may never know when and why they would attack you. I got hacked before, but it's just my yahoo account good thing there's no money involved in it but still personal info's are stated on that account. I don't want hackers to go on and look at my personal info's and pretend to be me. :|

Yeah, as far as I am concerned, I think I do care a lot about the safety of my personal information in the internet which can be used by people all over the world.If my information was known by other, I just afraid them using my information doing the things that are not allowed by laws.

Yeah I do care about my info and I wouldn't want it getting expose and I think there is no assurance about the safety, There is still a possibility that it could get expose to the strange and the unknown. Internet now has change us all a lot almost everything is just a surf away we don't even need to go outside to deal with something. We gain too much now but be careful about the everything we share in the online world.

yes.i really worry about this.you know the internet is a great information platform and you can find all most any information .if you have ever surfed the internet ,you left track on it.try using goole to search someone's name you'll find a lot of information about him or her.so i am really worried about my personal information.
