In a sharp reversal , more young women are now embracing online communities than their male couterparts, a new study says.By contrast, men are showing some signs of"networking fatigue" with fewer men saying that their online communities are as importent as their offline euivalents. The shift in attitudes between the two genders has taken place over just a couple of years.

There are a lot of factors that may have contributed to this reversal. Like migration of male workers. A year before, I have this friend who doesn't even know how to send a simple email and not really interested in learning, but when her husband went to work abroad, she started to ask me about facebook, friendster, etc. Now she constantly communicates with her husband thru the internet and even stays online longer than I do. She told me that keeping in touch with her many friends thru facebook keeps her from getting lonely while her husband is overseas. ^^

Well not very much aware of such statistical analysis but I do believe women are very much inclined to online communities these days.

I think that women are more inclined to be a part of online communities than are men because there are a lot of women that don't work outside the home. For me, I am much more involved in online communities and networking than my husband is. However, he is at work several hours a day while I am at home with our son. I use my online activities as my own way of keeping my sanity. Besides that, I've learned how to make a few dollars on the internet as well.
