Elephant is chosen as Mascot for World cup 2011

Recently it is announced that Elephant is chosen as Mascot for world cup 2011 which is going to be held in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
They also said that there will be a contest for suggesting a name for the Mascot.
What you think of elephant being chosen as Mascot for WC 2011?

Wow what a lovely mascot and I have loved it.. Appu got famous in Asian games because it was very cute as the present one.. I appreciate the mascot designers for making such a lovely cute one.. I hope WC 2011 turns out to be a great one and India win the cup in front of their home audience, i hope this is dream of mine comes true.. :D

well i think elephants have significant roles even in the indian histories, right?! i remember in history when alexander the great tried to conquer india, even he was surprised as how the indians trained the elephants! so that is really something. :)
