I am NOT happy with Proactiv's Service

Ok...so here's the problem. I ordered the Proactiv Solution kit for about 25 bucks. When it got here they were really small bottles--I was really bummed about that but just kind of said, oh well.
Then, all of a sudden Proactiv charged me another 35 dollars! I emailed them and told them I shouldn't have been charged because I didn't order anything else from them. Apparently, I had been added to some kind of "club" thing and was automatically being shipped new products and charged. NO WHERE did it say that this was going to happen when I ordered my initial product. I told them that, and told them I did not want to be a part of their club. They got back to me and said, okay.
Then I got charged by them AGAIN! For another 35 bucks! I told them that they were still charging me after I was told that wouldn't happen again. I didn't quite understand what they said in a response, but they did not give me any of my money back.
THEN, I was charged AGAIN!!!! And this time the money they charged me sent my checking out into a negative balance, so my bank charged me 30 dollars for that!!!!! I told Proactiv about all of this, how they continue to charge me AND made my bank charge me--I just got their response--and they are not refunding any of my money! They have cost me over 100 dollars for 1 set of small product bottles, and 1 normal size!!!
I am so upset with them and will not be doing business with them again!

when you ordered it you probably did indeed sign up for the program, it was probably just in small print. it seems the 35 is for the month supplies afterward so you would have been getting more bottles but they have clearly only come half way to taking you off the list, unfortunately the other half (a refund) is what you want.

Yeah, after I emailed them about the first unknown charge they said I was off the list! So, to be charged 3 more times!! I was MAaaaAD! lol
It must have been in VERY small print because I didn't see anything like that anywhere!

To Hell with proactiv! I've got nothing personal with 'em but I'll join in the protest, this kind of crappy service cannot be tolerated! I've been robbed by Verizon, by US Bank, by a university--we should get what we pay for!--and I for one want guaranteed quality with no strings attached!

I had a very similar experience with the "video professor" free lesson scam years ago. There are a couple of things you can do.
First, report the company to the Better Business Bureau. You can do it online at http://www.bbb.org/ Give them all the details of what this company has been doing.
Second, dispute the charges on your credit card. If they are charging your credit card even after you told them to end it, you can put a disputed charge claim against them. You shouldn't be responsible for those charges.
You may have to file a suit against the company in small claims courts in regards to the bank charges but check with your bank to see if there is anything they can do first.
I hate companies with these kinds of dishonest business practices. There are a few websites online that you can give them some bad publicity and warn others away too. One is http://www.ripoffreport.com
Spread the word wherever you can to expose them as a scam. It'll make you feel a little better even if you don't get any of your money back. Good luck!

proctive actually allows you to adjust the frequency of their shipments, and what you actually recieve through the mail. I sent this card/ notice in the original kit that proactive sent me, and every 3 weeks I got 3 bottles of renewing cleanser at about $20.00, which is reasonable.did you receive any notice/card telling you that you can customize the frequency/content of your proactive kits? not sending in that card is probably why you had problems with that company.but, that was years ago, now proactive might be totally different, in how they do business.

Oh my! I have not had any experience like this before but I think I won't be taking a case like this easily too. Why don't you look for a phone number so you can directly talk to a service officer to whom you can forward your complaints to? I'm sure if the company is concerned with its reputation, it will come up with an immediate action to address your concern.
I got a bit frightened though with your topic since a week ago was the first time I gave out my personal credit card details to PayPal since I thought I couldn't open an account without completing the info being asked for. Now I'm thinking of editing it if I still can and deleting the credit card account details. :-(

I had something similar happen to me with that company Cosmetique years ago. Their "sample" make-up was only $1.00 plus shipping and handling charges. They too must have had "fine print" about getting regular shipments, since sure enough before I could cancel they not only sent another shipment (which I didn't ask for) but charged me for about $35.00. It took a long time to sort out but eventually they did credit me after I sent the unwanted shipment back.
Why not make a complaint to the Better Business Bureau--they have an on-line complaint form one can fill out

that is not good. take it to someone who matters like consumer affairs. i wouldn't touch proactive even when my partner said i should use it on my skin. but from what they describe, it is not the soloution for geting rid of acne. it only masks the problem.
