I saw the news about that too, i mean about this folder costing around 389php which is in my own opinion hilarious! I remember when i was still in college we used to use those folders long ones for our research materials and other stuff we will be buying those expensive ones amounting to 30 pesos each and they have plastic covers already. Now the contractor of those folders that will be used by comelec says those folders have plastic covers too thats why it costs 389. Compare theirs is 389 ours is 30 pesos .Wow never thought folders can shoot that high when it comes to its price in a short period of time lol .

Good thing the contract with this expensive folder is already void, its already been revoked by the commission so theres no need to worry bout the said issue anymore.Although if this one is not exposed then maybe the filipino people were snatched again of their money. Now the commission is thinkin of how to provide these secrecy folders without paying as much as 389php. Have a good day

I was shocked too! What do we need such an expensive folder. Does it tally the returns instantly? Commissioner Melo's joke that we can use any banana leaf to cover is spot on. The funny thing is that the desks in the schools where we vote cannot accommodate the length of the folder!

Well I'm not surprised. To be honest, I don't really trust government bodies anymore. With all these things in the news, it's very hard to put your trust to them. Especially with the amount of tax money I'm shelling out, it pains me to see that these people are just using them for personal gain. Shameful as it is, I can't do anything. That's life I guess.

Hi Werty,
You are right friend. there's so much money spent for these election materials. i really feel bad learning all these things. there are so many hungry people around there craving for food and attention but sad to say they are not the priority. they could have had share from the budget just for that $#@%folders.

I think the comelec has already cancelled the project but i'm sure that they're already aware of it in the first place. Before that bid was approved it passed through the bids committee. So far no one raised any negative reaction when it was being reviewed. The decision to have it cancelled is a knee jerk reaction and to save their own as*s. Some may not be involved directly but chose to be silent and ignore the issue. This only show how deep corruption is in the government, anomalies are being committed right in front of the boss's noses.

I think what you are talking about is the ballot secrecy folder, is it? Hmm, you're right it is expensive. But if those officials from COMELEC will explain why it is so expensive then we would understand. But if they just shut their mouths on this then they expect words from the public. Don't you know that COMELEC spent Millions on the automation in May 10? And the part is they are only renting those PCOS Machines and so it will not be used again for the Barangay Elections because it is not the property of the COMELEC yet. If it will be used again then it will be another millions of pesos from the taxes of the Filipino people.

Well I guess this is being investigated upon by Comelec themselves and there are people identified in here that may be the cause of these anomalous transaction. I just hope that with all the problems they have this case would not be left unattended since it can become serious if this will be left unsolved.

Heard of this news, too. That's a pretty expensive folder if you ask me. I guess there are just some people who want to get a "kick-back" out of making the folders. It's under investigation now, I hope this will be resolved before the elections.
