How can I speed up my internet connection?

I'm a casual first-person shooter. I daresay that my internet connection is not really slow, but I think it's not fast enough to play games in servers located in North America! Mylotters, how can I reduce my ping and speed up my internet connection? Those lag spikes! I was about to gun that guy down...LAG!! Got killed instead.

you need to increase the memory of your computer or the memory of the hard drive for you to play games faster. its not about the connection if you say that connection run fast and if you use normal browsing its fast but only become slower if you play game then just increase the memory, you can go to any computer shop and ask about it.

Well if you don't have cable internet, then get it. Its alot faster than dial up or dsl. If you already have cable call your internet provider, and make sure you have the fastest connection. They usually don't tell people they can upgrade to better service. If you have that, then you just need to figure out the time when the most people are online in your town, and avoid that time. And when you're playing the game, stop programs you're not using from running in the background. Do cntrl alt del so the taskmanager pops up, and then close the programs you're not using, like messengers, updaters, backups, anything that is going to have a connection to the internet. That's all the advice I can give you.
