Last Monday, April 5, 2010 I have a very happy experience, that is I have the chance to visit again my hometown for almost after 10 years. I have a very different feeling when the jeep that I'm riding was started to approach the town prior to my hometown. Memories mostly of my childhood begin to flashback in my mind. I was pointing spots and places to my wife and begin to tell her some stories. She responded a nod and always with a smile also enjoying the place where you can still see many trees and the farms very green. Then my heart beat starts to be on the double time, here it is, my home town. Now I can see the elementary school that serves as my playground where you can see the swings, see saw and the front yard still with carabao grass where we used to ran and play "luksong tinik" (jumping on the elevated fingers?), "luksong baka" (jumping on the back?) and tumblings. Then I instructed the jeep to stop because we are now at the cemetery where my late father was buried, it was only the third time that I will visit his grave after he died in 1982. I still want to him to be alive in my memories but the reality comes when I am seeing his grave, that's the reason maybe that lessen my enthusiasm to visit my hometown frequently. How about you? do you many happy memories from your hometown?

I haven't actually visited my 'hometown' in about 10 years. I have driven through it traveling to somewhere else, but haven't actually stopped and gone back by where we lived. But I only lived there til I was 10, then we moved to another city, where we lived til I was 32. I never really felt like either was my hometown. However, I recently moved back to Texas from Pennsylvania, and found a house in my Dad's hometown. The funny thing is, it has always felt more like home than anywhere else I lived.
