I just came from a company summer outing and my officemate who's also a friend of mine had been telling me that she doesn't have enough for her pocket money, so I volunteered to lend her in case she really needs it. She actually brought her boyfriend along and according to her he's also in short of cash, and during the trip, after we just had our lunch, when it was time to pay the bill, she was staring at me as if signaling to help her.. so being a good friend, I let her borrow 200 bucks just enough to pay the lunch of her "loser" boyfriend.. there's a change of a 100 bucks and I even gave it to her and decided not to get my change anymore.. after that day, when we had dinner and time to pay the bill, I saw her hand out 1000 to pay her meal and her boyfriend's, I was kind of surprised 'coz I was not aware that she's not short of cash anymore, maybe they happen to withdraw from an atm machine or whatever, but I wonder why she didn't even tell me that she doesn't have money problems anymore or even just initiate to pay me the 200 bucks she borrowed.. after that day, I politely asked her to pay me, and she respond were like she doesn't know what I'm talking about, I even have to explain it to her three times that the 200 bucks was my money that I let her borrowed, until she finally paid me... however, while on our way home, she suddenly told me to give her her change from the 200 bucks.. I again explained to her again that I eventually gave the 100 bucks to her which includes our change for our bill.. but she was insistent that I owe her her change of 50 bucks.. I don't want to argue anymore 'coz I was already tired and gave in what she asked for... I was boggled, so I told another officemate about this and she said I have to give her the benefit of the doubt, clarify things to her again, maybe she just doesn't get the situation.. oh well, it was just 50 bucks, I don't want to create a big story out of this, she would probably make a scene and I don't want to argue with her... I just felt kind of rob.. I felt like I don't trust her anymore and told myself, if she needs financial help, never volunteer again to help..

Some people are just mindless when it comes to borrowing money. They only think of their problem and when the problem is solved, they don't care anymore. These people just needs a little nudge to the gut to think straight. Maybe if you went a little authoritative on her she might've came to her senses.

if it was just an honest mistake on her part, she would've been open when I explained to her who should owe this and that, yet she was still persistent, I don't know if she really had a bad intention at that moment to robbed me or whatever she was thinking, I just hope that someday she will surely come to her senses.. if she needs my help, I'll just pass then she will realize what she did to me that day...

Well, yeah, it's better to just ignore these types of people. You're right. When she asks you again just pass. It's like a cheap shot. Lol. A haymaker would be rubbing it on her face. Lol.

you did say to her that when she needs financial help you are not available anymore? well you have to do that so that you will not be victimize by her again. On the other side, maybe she did not get your explanation. When it comes to money tell you some are blind and deaf when it comes to payment. Do you know the first part of the story, I feel that I don't like your friend from lying to you. Too good that you ask for the payment of your money already.

That is a really tough situation.....I'm always short on money so I know how it feels and I have to borrow and sometimes it takes me ages to pay back and I feel really horrible about it.....I also try and be honest with the person I borrowed from so that they don't think that I'm just not caring anymore and I know I owe them....I agree with the other poster here tho if she looks to you again just ignore her....Something doesn't sound right.....
