Virginia Holocaust Museum

The Virginia Holocaust Museum - The Virginia Holocaust Museum was the scene of a protest by the Westborro Baptist Church Hate group.

The group carried signs and chanted "God hates Jews". The group was met by counter protesters including a 28-year old Iraq war veteran who said he wanted to drowned out their message. He told reporters that he first heard of the group while still in Iraq after they protested a soldier's funeral.

The Kansas based Westborro Baptist "Church" Hate group recently visited Richmond. One of the places they chose to spread the message of hate was at the Virginia Holocaust Museum. They were greeted by a couple of hundred counter protesters. This group no more represents religion than the KKK. As odd as it may seem they are possibly a step below the KKK, after all, at least the Klan doesn't make it a policy to protest at funerals.

If you are going to talk about holocaust museums, may i also suggest that we need an American Indian holocaust museum to honor all of my ancestor and other American Indians who were killed and sometimes raped just to steal their land.

I understand the Westboro Baptist Church has a problem with homosexuals. Have you ever noticed that those who yell the loudest against something are often guilty of the very offense they are criticizing? I'm not saying the Westboro Baptist are homosexuals, but they do put me in mind of that line from Shakespeare, "Me thinks he doth protest too much."

Interesting that you say that. Check out the article on wikipedia.com about Fred Phelps. In his early years he was brought up on charges of incest, statitory rape, and rumors of his secret homosexual life are widely known.

I didn't know that. I just brought it up because it's so often the case. Thanks for the information.

It would be nice to see a militant Gay Group protest (sing out side) during on of their church services and see how they like it. They should wait out side and make them walk through a chanting sign carrying group and see how they like it.

And the protesters exhibited a peaceful protest. Maybe the Westboro freaks could learn from them!
