Wedding Colors

My sister got married yesterday, and the colors at her wedding were pink, red and orange. Not three colors one would normally think to combine but it was really pretty. If you're married, what were the colors at your wedding? If you're not married, what colors would you like to have at your wedding? I think I'd like my wedding colors to be a simple black and white.

I think a black and white theme would be nice, really..
By the way, those are vibrant colors and I'm sure it was a beautiful wedding of your sis..congrats to her.
I think a wedding in my point of view; the more simpler, the better.. and not much fuss over things. The most important thing is to have a fun time and guests are enjoying themselves with food and whatnot.

My ex and I actually discussed having our wedding colors black and white! It would be very elegant, and I also agree with you about the simplicity. Thanks for your response; sorry it took me so long to respond!

Burgundy and green sounds like a lovely combination, not sure it's one I'd pick myself though. I tend to stay away from reds and browns. Thanks for the response!

The colors at our wedding were fall colors. Oranges and red's, brown's and black's it was a real beautiful wedding with all those colors. Our was themed Western (cowboy, cowgirl) and was in the fall hence the colors.

That sounds lovely! I've thought about whether or not I'd like my future wedding to have a Western/Cowboy/Cowgirl theme as well. Not sure I'd like that myself, but it does seem really cool to have a theme like that for a wedding! Thanks for the response!

The cool thing about themes is you can kind of make them what you want. You could even do more then one theme, if you didn't want all western you could do cowboy and Indian.

My husband and I got married last June. Our colors were fuchsia and orange! They looked fantastic - especially since it was a summery wedding! We got so many compliments on our colors because they were so bright and different. If I had to do it all over again I'd pick those same colors. The greatest part about them - my favorite color is pink and my husband's is orange!

Fuchsia and orange!? I would never have thought to put those colors together, so I guess I'll take your word on how wonderful they looked together. I love the idea of having a couples wedding colors be the bride and grooms favorite colors, and may do that at my future wedding, should I be lucky enough to find a suitor. Thanks for the response!

I think your choice of black and white is sophisticated. However, I doubt if I can pull out the same effect if I am to wear it here in the Philippines, considering the weather. I'd imagine myself pooling with sweat. Although that really depends on the wedding venue. My dream wedding colors would have to be Periwinkle, a pale purplish blue hue. For me, it's not too loud, and it fits my complexion.

Periwinkle sounds like a lovely wedding color. And yeah, black and white would probably be very hot here as well, depending on the season. I will most likely be having my wedding indoors however, where the colors I choose won't really make much of a difference as to the heat. Thanks for the response!

if God permits that I'll marry someone, I would like to have motif of burgundy with a combination of pastel pink. Ever since that is the color I would like to have. I hope it will come true.

we didn't have colours for our wedding.
we just picked things out in whatever colours we liked, rather than trying to match everything.
my husband wore burgundy velvet. my bridesmaid wore dark, slightly two tone green. the younger bridesmaid had a dark purple sash on her dress. the flowers had various shades of pink, cream, green etc.
so we didn't have colours, but everything still went together.
I see it as like looking at lots of flowers together in a garden. the colours all look good together, even though they're different.
if anything I'd say that was the idea. all the colours were either natural or muted jewel colours.
I don't really like the idea of trying to match everything. when I see people getting worked up over whether the napkins match the bridesmaids dresses, I just think it's missing what a wedding is about.

Sounds like you're wedding was beautiful. I agree with your garden analogy, as well. Thanks for the response!

The pink, red, and orange combination is great for a summer wedding. Black and white makes me think of a vintage 50s-style wedding.
When I got married 2 years ago, my motif colors were apple green with pink accents. It was a morning wedding, so we wanted something that's a bit bright but still cool on the eyes.

That sounds amazing! There are some weddings over which do not have a color scheme/palette either, nothing wrong with that! Most do tend to have specific colors in mind for that day though. Thanks for the response!

It was kinda weird that all three were your sister's wedding colors. Normally, it would just be one color for a wedding. But it seems really festive and cool. I am not married myself. But if I were to imagine something like that, I would want it in color peach.

Most of the weddings I've been to, the couple has picked two or more colors for their wedding. I think for my sister and her new husband, they had trouble narrowing it down past those three colors and decided to just combine all three of the colors for their wedding. They're not colors I would've chosen myself but they were beautiful. Peach sounds lovely for a wedding! Thanks for the response.

I guess I'll be expressing my wedding dream on this page.hehe.Anyway, I'm actually thinking of rainbow colors as my motiff since I wanted my wedding gown to be in rainbow colors as well. I wanted to have the same gown as what had Shania Twain worn on her music video, You've Got A Way. I super love it. And I want my gown as short as that. I don't like long gowns. It gives me hassle.

Dream away! Rainbow colors sound beautiful! I hadn't seen that video of Shania's but I did go look it up. That is a beautiful dress! Thanks for the response.

Both of those color combinations sound lovely, though the pink and lavender would probably be too girly for my tastes. Thanks for the response!

a did a shower for someone whose colours were black and silver for her wedding (not colours that i would choose either)
my colours were pretty much just royal blue with pink accents, of course that was over 20 years ago! if i got married now, my colours would be aqua shades.

Black and silver could look lovely together, but I'm not sure I would choose those colors either. Royal blue with pink sounds pretty, I'm sure it was! Aqua shades also sounds beautiful, I think it'd be really neat to see a wedding where the color palette is one color but in many different shades.
Thanks for the response!
