Experts tell us that average child spend five hours a day watching television.During the most important development stages.from age 2 through age 5, a child spends two thirds of his walking time in front of the TV.Between the ages of 6 and 18,a youth accumulates 16,000 viewings hours but attends school only 12,000 hours.Only time spent sleeping surpasses viewing time.Through television can boast some positive effects on children and society, an overdose of viewing can prove damaging.

That is way more then my son watches T.V.
I try to make sure he watches shows that teach values, and good values at that.
So, when he watches T.V, it can be positive, but mostly he reads and plays.

Your so lucky to have a good son his not like other boy's out there that don't want or hates values or educational channel because they find it as boring and they want some action's and violent movies.Your a good father to race your son like that..

He doesn't know about them other kinds of movies yet. So, maybe when he is school aged and talking with kids at school, and hanging out at their houses, there will come a time, when it will be more difficult for me to do this for him.
But, that is a few years off yet. In the meantime, I just keep reinforcing what I believe to be best for him.

I try to limit my children's TV time, but sometimes its just easier to wash dishes & let them watch SpongeBob.

That's fine if they just watching spongebob what if they turn the channel to the other channel that need parental supervisions?Is your kitchen near enough to hear or see what's your children watching or doing??
