Yesterday,i saw a discussion: It is harm for children that his parents pack him off to the kindergarden befor 3 years old. But in china, many parents pack their child off to the kindergarden about 2 years, the reasons is that their child will learn singing, dancing, drawing, and the like in kindergarten, and playing with others.you know, chinese family only has 1 kid.
what about your opinion? thank you !

he is very naughty. he is not interesting in his toies for he played them for a long time .
he want to go to outside .
so his mom want to pack him off to the kindergarten .but she worries that he can bully other children.
yes ,In China many family only has one kid . the kids always are raised by their grandma .

At that age in the United States we will be sending children to preschool. Kindergarten is part of the public school children for kids older than five. At preschool they do a lot of stories and singing and dancing and playing. It can be an important place for children to develop social skills. My children did not go to preschool, but they went to some play groups and swimming lessons and tumbling lessons. Later I had a daycare in my home. My kids were not bored as they had each other (two kids) and then the younger child had day care friends when her brother went to kindergarten in the public school.

I think in part that depends on what is common in your country. The other thing I would think about is whether the kindergarten is expecting a two year old to sit and learn academic things or just to play and have fun with friends. At two years old children mostly play alongside each other, not with each other. In my opinion a little bit of time at a group like this is fine, just as long as your son is also getting enough time with you. You are actually his first and best teacher.

It gives a lot of stressed to child if we will send them to school at the age of three.Instead of enjoying their time as a toddler they are there for learning. well in China they have different cultures but here in my country we send school the children at the age of five, kindergarten. I was send to kindergarten at the age of 6 actually. it is just perfect i guess. it is a timing for the development of my brain and my initiative to learn.

May be i use the inapt word. kindergarten is not same as school, maybe i would use the "nursery". In china , About the age of three, chinese parents will send their kid to the nursery or kindergarten.
Hope you to understand what i said.
Have a nice day.

Well, my child went to nursery when he has 3 years old. Well, he is now 7 years old and is on the way to Grade 1. Education is good but I think it should be started at a not so early age considering that it may take away the child in our child. What I mean is I want my child to play and enjoy his childhood rather than start him to education right away. Well, the good thing now, is several programs are now incorporated to let the child play and learn.

Hello there! I permitted my only daughter to attend her kindergarten school when she was only 4 years old. After wards i allow her to repeat it again. Now she is 6 years old already and ready for her grade 1 class this school year. I am so happy because she was among the top of her class, knows how to read in our native tongue and in english also. She can communicate well with her friends and teachers plus the fact that her drawing, singing and dancing skills are very much developed now.

In Pakistan, the trend is not only to start early but even the child should know their ABC by two years old. I don't agree with that so my daughter went at a respectable age of five. She still didn't learn anything at school because everything important was assigned as a homework task. Yes, parents do the actual teaching! The school teachers just collect the hefty fees.

Children in the US attend school from kindergarten or 1st through 12th grade in general, that is the mandatory schooling period. Many parents also enroll their children in a preschool or pre-K program at age 3 or 4 to enrich them socially and help get them ready for traditional schooling. After you graduate from high school, it is a choice whether to go on to college or technical school. College or tech school is not a taxpayer funded or 'free' undertaking, nor is it mandatory. The cost sometimes prohibits people from continuing.
Prior to preschool, many parents also use mommy and me or daddy and me sorts of classes which you attend with your baby and/or toddler, but some people don't do anything.
Personally I cannot imagine sending my child away to school for more than a couple hours AFTER they are 3 or 4. At age 2, NO WAY. My daughter turned 6 in January and she has 2 months of kindergarten left - she attends a half day kindergarten. She will be 6 when she starts first grade in Aug.
I guess some of it is personal preference but I wasn't even into full day kindergarten and would have found another school if the one we chose was not half day. All those things you say children learn by going to school early are things parents can do with children on our own, or through our own activities outside of school, as well as in school once they are actually five or six years old. There is no reason those things shouldn't be taught or should be excluded in any part of life, no matter what age your child is. If they are not in school yet, it's up to a parent to provide the opportunities. Once the child is in school, I believe it is 50/50 the parent and schools' responsibility. Neither get a free ride to not implement and introduce and do these things.

I don't pack my children off anywhere. I homeschool them, have for almost twenty years, and I even have a son in law school now!
Even if I only had one child, I would still homeschool him. We have homeschool groups that do things together, and he would still have interaction.

Hi Xin,
My kids went top school early too. at 2 and 1/2 years old they are already in school. my kids have special needs and early intervention was highly recommended. they are responding so well in the special education program. my youngest was already maintstreamed to grade 1. it was good that they were exposed to early schooling.

hi! im sending off my 3yrs old kiddo in kindergarten this coming school year. not only will she learn but also gain friendship. i think this year she's more ready and she's more interested in writing and coloring.
it really depends on the child'd readiness...
