we own a small store here in our place... and while i was organizing our displays outside and my sister was serving the customers., i caught one man of about 20s hid a bottle of soda inside his shorts! i noticed some of the other guys seemed to have seen it too, but they didn't want to get involved. I argued with the man and he denied it severely... He said he didn't hide anything... my sister was too shocked that she didn't know how to respond. I told him i saw him put the soda inside his shorts. he even dared and said "why don't you get it then?"...
I took the soda and he was pretty shocked... i bet he didn't consider that i would get it since i am a female. That i would be too shy to do so.,..
I can't believe i spouted foul words.. i never do that.. ^_^ but honestly, i was so scared... I hope he never returns

GOOD JOB you weren't too shy to take it back from him.
Males sometimes think that they have one over on us because we are female. I thoroughyly enjoy making them realize that I am not one of those prissy's that can be bullied or walked all over.

I have a medical store. One year before, I appointed one staff who was looking very poor. In the beginning he was very good and honest in his work. But after sometime , his behavior changed certainly. I couldn't understand , Why? I started keeping watch on him. Because, I had some doubt to his character. one day I saw him putting some strip of tablets in his big pocket. I was totally surprised. That time , I didn't know why I didn't ask him anything. But again I saw after two days, that he was giving medicine to the customer without taking payment. Isn't fair? I caught him and asked him ,"what are you doing?" He was shocked with the action. He couldn't reply, and said please forgive me , I don't do it in future. I caught a thief. He was feeling ashamed for what he had done.

I think that business owners would start pressing charges against shop lifters like they did once upon a time. If BIG business would stop letting theifs get away with it, maybe small businesses woudln't be as plagued either.
When I worked at a pet store, one young man stuck a FISH BOWL down his pants with A LIVE FISH inside it.

Yeah, as far as I am concerned, I think You have done a very great job ,which you have caught a thief, which may not be common for the nrmal people. I think the next time if you are going to catch the thief , you need to think about whether you have the ability to catch him and avoid yourself being hurt so deeply in body. Have a nice day.

You go, girl! (LOL) I think it's good that since you're a store owner, you don't let others walk all over you and take advantage of you by stealing from the store. I'm not surprised someone tried to steal with so many losing their jobs, but that's no excuse! I'm glad you stood your ground. Good for you!

luckily you did pulled out the right bottle of soda (not the wrong little something which is attached to him) inside his shorts. just joking!
actually with the prove and eye-witnesses around, why don't you hand him to the police? by now, i think you should have made a police report, haven't you? this is to protect you, at least, if something bad happens to you or to your store, he would be the main suspect.

It is rare that i read about an instance where the girl turned up the brave guy. Who else? Come on women show what you have.

I'm so glad it worked out in your favor. It could have turned deadly. People have been killed over smaller things. I can't believe there were men standing around and know one came to your defense. What a bunch of cowards and good for you for being so brave. I hope the guy doesn't come back either. However, I would get some type of protection like a bat. Take care and good luck to you and please be careful.

My guess would be that the man would never return on account of the fact that you were a bold enough worker to reach into his shorts to get the soda out of them. I know that I would be utterly humiliated if something like that was to happen to me. That said, I don't understand how it is that people are able to steal things in the first place, my conscious would never let me do something like that, I'm just too honest a person to ever even try it.

wow jd, you did a good job as you were alert and aware of your surroundings. good thing, the guy was not agitated or carried a weapon or something sharp. shoplifting occurs everyday in small stores, outlets and even supermarkets. even in the mall, when the shopowners are inside his shop, one or 2 of his display items were gone and they complained to the security people. the answer after much discussion was that the shopowners have to have their own staff to monitor the displays or their own goods. people just walk pass by and grap and walk away. some were hard core shoplifters and some were not poor, come from well to do families and backgrounds. even cctv weree installed. i think big departmental stores and malls share footage information of shoplifting to other stores to monitor and look out for these shoplifters. and some were caught in other malls as they pull the same tricks. they were caught and handed over to police. well jd, this was what i heard and i share with you. have a good day, jd.

Atleast you proved yourself right. I'm just disappointed at the on-lookers. I've should've said something about it if i was there. I hate thieves. We were robbed before too. I co-manage a small internet shop here and when i was closing i saw one of the pc's missing a mouse. Never caught the culprit.

That was brave of you but it was dangerous. That man could have reacted violently. You were lucky that there were other customers there. What if you were just the two of you with your sister? He could have responded on your act and harmed you both with your sister. Be careful next time!
