If you go around Chinatown, you might see some Chinese herbal stores that sell those herbs for medical use. They are basically plants, and it might have good effect on your body once you are sick. An introduction from a friend of mine, I got a chance to use them a couple of times, and they have really good effect on me when I was sick.
Some people argue it though, those herbs are base on traditional experience from the past, and most of them are never been studied. So, in scientific point of view, it is dangerous to use without a studied approval. What is your view?

in china i guess life expectancy is 90 and up years old due to they believe the power of herbs as natural medicine that those medicine we have in the market. besides most medicine also comes from herb due they just improvise it along with other chemicals. in our province we have a very far hospital and most of the time old people there just advise herbals and it really works unless they already have acute illnesses that need medical attention.

i'm a chinese myself. different from western medicines, chinese herbs takes time to work ,in other words, they are chronic.you can both use it to cure diseases or keep healthy in peacetime.it's a good way to keep your health in condition.however, certain chinese herb is taken according to your condition and never should you take any herbs by yourself before consulting a doctor.some herbs should combine with other herbs. in a word ,chinese herbs is completely different from western medicine and it's hard to describe it clearly in a few words. you may as well refer to some books introducing chinese herbs.
