I read an article last week, its argument is that it's vain that if ur hobbies have no business with the work field u engage in though they bring u great knowledge ,also u start to pick a hobby late in rest of ur life, coz u donnt have enough time to amuse urself by it......
I donnt agree at all......
Well, the standard to determind whether this bobby is good to u or not,is the furthest thing to avail against ur job.
And I know many elders enjoyed themselves with fresh things to them,it's common, they also could have flourish rest life and have great willing and capability much more than we image to learn new things.

Hobbies, I use them as a source for relaxation. I can learn new things but engaging in hobbies as well. If I can make money with my hobbies, either by selling my wares or teaching a class then that is a mere bonus. For the most part I like to do hobbies such as painting, drawing, sewing, baking, playing guitar, reading and writing as a way to relax. It is a good way to spend some quality time with oneself, some quiet time to reflect, ponder and muse over your accomplishments.

I agree. It is kind of learning when you have a hobby different from your work. You indulge yourself in another activity that isn't connected with work and It's always gratifying in the end and takes away all the stress.

Hi, mac_fish. Hobby is hobby,I think. Just follow our heart. When one do interested in something and keep learning or enjoying it,the question of whether the hobby related with one's work is not important, maybe.
For those who can do what they like and need not to worry about their bread and butter, they are really lucky.
And we can have various hobbies at the same time as well.

I don't understand why everything we do has to have relationship with work. I think that claim is made by some workaholics out there who doesn't know anything except work. Hobby is something which interests us. It is an activity which we engage in to make life more enjoyable. For me, reading and writing are some of the hobbies that I enjoy. Whenever I spend some time for my hobbies, I feel relax and entertained.

Greetings. Noticed nobody commented on your post, so I decided to comment in it :)I somewhat agree with you and disagree the same time. Hobbies don't have to be picked late in life. There is knowledge everywhere and sometimes people fail to recognize it. I do disagree that it cannot be work related. Writers, tend to be readers. Writers become better with a more diverse vocabulary which they get through reading. Hobbies are actually there to add spice to life. They are like salt actually, without it food tastes bland.
