Most of the Christians don't believe they are modified from monkey. Many evidence proof that we are from monkey. Your grandfather were monkey. Do you believe in this? how you made? Does God discovered you?

Tell more about our views on Evolution. It is surely evident that many species evolve from other complexities. What facts lead you to feel this applies to the human species?

There is no evidence that we are from monkey. Many Christians are right there as you suggested. But I think it's not only 'many Christians', it's most Christians. In fact, most atheists and Hindus and others too. I guess, only the biologically illiterate will believe that we are from monkey. Theory of evolution just does not say that we evolve from monkey. The theory says something else.

No I do not believe I developed from a monkey. I am a Christian and I know God created humans on the 6th day after he created animals. When I was in 9th grade biology class we were taught Evolution. We had a pretest and the question was 'how was the earth formed' and I wrote In the Begining God created the heavens and the earth. another question was "How was man evolved?" and I wrote "on the 6th day God created man." My teacher pulled me aside and told me if I wrote that on the test I would get an E. On Friday we had our test and that is what I wrote on my test. I got an E. I have never regreted that E.

I had a friend that went to college and she told me she had to much education to believe in God anymore and that is somewhere that I never want to be. I believe in taking a stand for what I believe in and if that harms my academic pursuit then so be it. I don't care, but I do care about my belief in God.

What about Lucy and the Neanderthals? By the way, these are not apes they are pre-humans. http://www.anthro4n6.net/lucy/ http://www.neanderthal.eu/ Remember, these aren't apes, they are pre-human beings.

Christmas, But don't you think your teacher will say that your religion has done great harm to your academic pursuit? And so your teacher can develop negative attitude to your religion. "God created man" is not scientifically falsifiable, so it can't be part of scientific textbook. Just because it cannot be part of scientific textbook does not mean that it is wrong. It's just science deals with which are falsifiable. Evolution does not teach that we developed from monkey. That's one very common misunderstanding among many people specially those who did not study Biology.

No I don't believe we are descended from monkeys. we are too fearfully and wonderfully made. we are far too complex. I don't believe that any thing came from another animal or from slim.

I think we are evolved from apes. Not monkeys, but the bigger primates like chimpanzees and Orang-utans which share 99% of our genes. We are not evolved from these current primates that we are familiar with, but I believe we and they are evolved from earlier forms of primates that were even more similar than we are to them now. That is my opinion as it makes more sense to me than having a magical force such as God who created everything. I believe in Mother Nature as being the creator of everything and evolution is a natural occurrence that is part of nature!

Okay, what is so wrong with believing in Evolution? It's not like Darwin didn't believe in God. He did. He just wanted to better explain how people came into being, and saying that we just appeared doesn't cut it for some people. Creationism makes it sound like God just put us here. Here is man, here is woman, but why? What for? How come? Why this? Why that? How did we become who we are today? Creationism says it took seven days to make this world. Who really believes that? It takes nine months for a baby to be born. How can a fully grown human being just appear like that? Magic? I am not trying to make fun of religion here, but Evolution seems to explain what Creationism can't. I do believe that something or someone created all of us, but why? What for? How? So many questions and not enough answers.

Psalm 90:4 says For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by or like a watch in the night. 2 Peter 3:8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. We look at creationism in 1 day but it took time. That one day was a long day.

Okay, you answered on part of my question, but why not just say "thousands of years"? Hmm...? Also, Creationism does not explain the scientific formation of human beings. It makes it sound like we just magically appeared. Genesis 2:2 "And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Scientifically speaking, how can people be formed out of dirt? Genesis 2:22 "And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man." Again, scientifically speaking, how can a woman come from a man's rib? Also, why do women have to come from men? Hmm...?

The feminist in me says that the Bible is biased, and women suffer for that bias. Thanks to this passage in the King James Bible, women are told the men come first and they are second. Also, women give birth to humans. Genesis makes it sound like men gave birth to women, and we all know that that can't happen!

MOst christian thinks that humans is made by god, or rather jesus.. Though it's scientific proven we evolved from monkey, but there are evidence to prove that adam and eve does really exist too.. lol =D So who's right?? I guess alot depends on which we wanna believe and one need not be forced to believe if we really came from monkeys or adam and eve?? lol =D Actually, i will wanna believe i evolve from a beast instead!! haha =D

I believe in creative evolution. I think that God created us first as organisms then allowed evolution to take over. How else would He be able to encourage us to use our brains to figure out tough problems? We have proof of evolution or at least evolving, so why deny it? The Bible tells the story of creation in ways that the people of that time could understand it--remember, men wrote the holy books, not God. A man back then could never have conceived of the concepts we now know about evolution, plant development, etc. Thus, the biblical story of creation.

Dude, you really need to work on your English. For example, English uses definite articles like:the,a. Let me give you an example on what you should have said: Most Christians don't believe that humans share a common ancestor with primates. A lot of evidence proves that we have this common link. Do you believe your grandfather shared a common ancestor with primates? Do you believe this? How were you made? Did God discover you?

I guess that believe how fanatik a Christian you are, im baptized in the luthern church, but im not religious at all,it is 2 years ago I was in a church last time... And I do know my science, just because the bible says one thing doesnt mean it is true, counts for various of religions, thier "bibles" are based on deception, decieve people into believing... take a look at your own religion if you are religious... Tell me if Adam and Eve where the two first people on earth, then they got two sons, Cain and Abel, Cain killed Abel and then went out in the world to marry. But who did he marry if Adam and Eve where the two first people on earth? Please tell me that :) (Could be a monkey....)

RachelleNH you are most welcome, and we can conclude something was left out, but when you read the bible it is a nice story which catches you so you dont really think over it... This part refeers to the old testament though... But they managed pretty well to decieve the people back then and they still do.

Regardless of religion, it is hard for me to believe that we evolved from monkeys. The reason why is because most species that have evolved..well..there aren't anymore of them...they have evolved into something else.

wow you have some interesting curiosities for this discussion, but I afraid I will leave this one on the side. I wish you would have invested a little more care on your wording and sorted out your thoughts to set up this discussion. I do understand you are trying to site religion and the Evolution Theory, but for lack of words knowledge you stated that someone's grandfather was a monkey? LOL not a good thing to do. I hope you just meant to state a question like: Do you think your ancestors evolved from monkeys?, which is still out of place.

I don't really know what I really think about that subject. I've never stopped and gave it all that much thought. I think its possible, but in a way I don't think so. I would like to think we are our own speicies.

I don't believe I evolved from apes. If apes turned into humans then why do those ones in the zoo or the forest turn human? They are still there with their tails. I believe my greatest and grandest great-grandparents are adam and eve. Well, do you like to believe that you came from monkeys?
