I'm a sentimental person. I love quiet places. I love to reminisce...I always think of my childhood hometown. I miss those days....climbing aratiles trees, having picnics in the fields, nature tripping...playing games with my old friends...leaving the problems to the adults...whew!how i wish I can turn back the clock...life was so much simplier then. Still, there's no rewind i know. I just have to be contented with what I have now and try to make the best out of it...enjoy life with my family and friends...the best things in life are free!

That's true. Some things in life are free and are often neglected. What they don't know is these things aren't worth the things that can be bought by money. And it's our choice to make life whatever it is. If we think about sadness then sadness our life will be about. If we think about happiness then we'll be happy for sure.

I truly agree with the both of you and congratulate your good insight towards life... it is so true to be responsible of our own happiness as much as there is no turning back time... but the memories stay with us to give us strength and hope of all there is yet to come, to remind us to be thankfull for all we have and so to never forget who we really are! good tidings to all

i'm quite a sentimental person too, but nowadays, it's really hard to have a place just to relax and to think, so sometime i just take a bus to random places and think about my life. i know it's weird, but it really helps for me.

Talking about "life is how you make it", I'd like to share this story:
An elderly carpenter was ready to retire and told his contractor-employer of his plans to leave the house-building business to live a more leisurely life with his family. The carpenter would surely miss the paycheck but they could get by. He really needed to retire.
The contractor was so sorry to see his dutiful worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter agreed and done so but it is apparent that his heart was not in his work. He carried out a lousy workmanship and even used inferior materials. It was not a gracious way to end a dedicated career.
When the carpenter finished his work, his employer came to inspect the house. He handed the front-door key to the carpenter.
"This is your house", he said. "This is my gift for you." The carpenter was surprised! What a shame, if only he had known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.
Thus, it all depends on us. We build our lives a day at a time, often using less of our best efforts. Suddenly we realize that we have to live the life we have faintly built. If we could only live our lives all over again, we would do it much differently. However, we cannot go back.
We are the carpenters of our own lives and each day we hammer a nail or erect a wall of life. Someone said, "Life is a do-it-yourself project". The attitude and the choices you make today will build the "house" you will dwell in tomorrow. We should build it wisely.
Life is what we make it.

I am a sentimental person as well and a homebody too, the most enjoyable pace of my life was during my childhood as well, that was the time when i care of nothing but to play all day together with my childhood friends and cousins. We played the usual stuffs like, climbing trees and picked some of its fruits, fishing, cooking, hide and seek etc.
Now that im all grown up i think that life is what you make it really but faith and destiny was also a factor on how you lived your life here on earth, that's what i honestly believe. Thanks a lot ipoemea!

hi there,
i and you seem to be quite same as per behavior. I used to be the same way. I had trees in my backyard and many fruits and all. I used to even sleep on the branches.
But one day when i was in 6th , i had a seizuire/fit and had that was the changing part of my life. ON 25th dec i was in hospital and was in there was 3 months.i used to be a happy / non harmful person with a sweet voice.
Now i m the strongest / arrogrant / fighting type person since then.
Hence the meaning that you can never go back right there where you were. i still have the same trees there, but no time now.
everthing is the same but not me.
hope this helps

too free that sometimes other almost forgotten what is the true meaning of life they just slip the words in their tongue not knowing that this cause their life to be in enjoyment or in sadness. They choose what they had and still living with dreams out of it which maybe they are lucky in life.

I completely agree. I don't know if this is necessary but in another discussion about life quotes I coined a quote. It was a "eureka"
It goes;
"Life is what you make it, fate is for fools, destiny is a joke, luck is for the lazy, it's just you and your hard work" -- louierrific24
A quote which I will forever treasure.

Time passes on like streams, gong forever. No matter what kind of memories we have, that have been in the past. Maybe it is beautiful, maybe it is regretful, maybe it is wonderful, what we can do is grasp the present, looking to the future. Time, such as an hourglass and never stop. We should try to make our life colorful.
We should share our happiness with others,so that more people would feel happy. Just as you said, enjoy life with family,friends...
