I think you need some model kids or show them so that your son will watch him or you, how it's done properly. A model kid will encourage him to brush as he saw it.

I think a brush that looks like chocolate and go to dentist. Try also to socialize with kids on his age. Other kids to teach him how to toothbrush, it will be great experience to him without seeing you.

There are toothpaste available for kids, it doesn't taste so minty and it smells and tastes like fruits children love. Just check it with the local supermarkets. And provide your kids with toothbrush that looks like a toy or toothbrush that rings or making sounds as they brush their teeth. They will enjoy brushing their teeth with these.

i bought that toothbrush with spongebob and with the sound too but he just stares at it. he doesn't like me to brush his teeth either. what i do is i use wet clean cloth and rub his gums and teeth, but i know it isn't enough to clean the teeth.

i will just tell a story on what my wife did to our son who is now 4 years old. when he was around 6 months she bought a tooth brush that is made from silicon. very soft. my wife let our child play with that so he will get used to it. when he reach one year old he handles already the real tooth brush for toddlers. but i guess you need to ask your pediatrician if its okay already to use toothpaste. in our case we are advice to go for toothpaste when our son was two years old.

My son is turning 3 this August, and I also have a problem teaching him to brush his teeth. I don't let him brush his teeth on his own because he only throws the toothbrush. Every time I brush his teeth, I explain to him that brushing is like playing. You get to play and teach him at the same time.
