Well, in Australia there aren't many laundry shops; except for in the main locations; such as capital cities. Most Ausralians wash their own clothes; except for those who are extremely busy. In the typical Aussie backyard; there is a clothesline called the 'Hill's Hoist'. We usually hang our cloths there. Since we are in a drought; soon people will be routing their washing machine 'grey water' onto our gardens; which we have to water every 2nd day!
