I appreciate the discussions we have on mylot about the political controversies of the day. But what can YOU do to REALLY work to effect change?
Does not matter the issue here - - just as a citizen what do you feel you can do to effect change in things you feel you can do in your town/city/state/nation?
Thanks for your time...

Even though I'm a registered Independent, I've volunteered to help with the Republican challenger's campaign. I want my incumbent Democratic Representative out of office, so this time I want to do more than vote. I'm also volunteering my time and video-making services for a website for a community food bank on an Indian Reservation in NM. That's what I think real charity is about; not the Government taking and redistributing my money.

Wow...so many things to cover here. I will address things on a national level. The ONLY sure way to straighten out the national government is through our states. Our states are the creators of the federal government and therefor it's keepers and minders. We cannot change it directly, it has simply become too big. We must do this by electing stable state governments that understand their propper roles and have the spine to stand up to the federal government and nullify, by force of law if nessesary, anything they do outside their constitutional scope. Strong state governments = compliant constitutional federal government.

Write, call, email, visit your representatives. You can also discuss issues and possibly sway others in your beliefs. But the number one action is to VOTE!

Vote your incumbent out of office!!!! Writing or calling them will not help, that was tried with the health care bill and we still got a bill the 70% of We the People did not want. Vote them out, then if the new guy does not listen out they go too. If you truly want your government back you have to take it back, VOTE OUT ANY AND ALL INCUBENTS.
