Your father is getting to the age when we start getting cold. How about some flannel shirts. My sister got our father some for Christmas once, and he really loved them.

At that age, (mine is 83) we need to pamper them. Two years ago, we got him a seat warmer (not sure how its called) Its for the car, it he sits on it and it warms up. He just loves it. It broke down a month ago and he was in a panic lol. Luckily my husband could fix it for him.
We also got him a remote garage door opener, a bigger tv, wireless phones so he can have them in all the rooms. Anti-skid for the bath and shower. Body creams as he gets dry skin.
Look at what your father likes doing and try to make life easier for him. But to be honest, all they want is us kids with them.
PS: if he's on any medication, make sure he can have whisky or brandy!! Brandy is given to older people (depending on meds they're taking) to start the day, its like a booster.

How about making a unique photo collage familly portrait? It is simplet yet it brings back memories of happiness. It can also be framed and be a lasting keepsake.
Happy Birthday to your Dad!

You can give your father a nice personalised crystal with his and your picture on it.Or you can also collect your childhood pictures and arrange them according to your growing up stages and the last one should be your latest snap. Put in form of a huge collage card and at the end write "whatever I'm today, is all because of you. Love you dad!"

Does he have any hobbies? My dad is doing the family tree, so we were going to get him a subscription to Ancestry.com for Father's Day. Something to do with a hobby is good.

Get him an award. Give him a big kiss! Take him to his favorite restaurant for dinner or do something fun with him and family members.Take lots of pics throughout the evening. Then make a photo album and give it to him.

If that's what he's happy with, just keep giving him spirits. I've never had a relative live that old anyway.

If that's what he likes.. I'd stick with the spirits. I've never had a relative live that old.
