I got to thinking the other day while waiting for my sister-in-law to be ready to go out. Do you always have to put on makeup before you will leave your house?
Me, I personally don't wear makeup very often at all. I might put on a little bit of lip gloss in the day to day of my life, but I don't put on full face of makeup. However, I do know that there are a lot of people that won't leave their house without makeup on. Tell me about how you do it.

Hi Dorann,
I only put on light make up everytime i leave the house for work and go to other places. i need to put some color on my fale face hehehe. lipgloss is fine too with me not necessarily lipsticks. i wfeel good about myself when i put on a dash of make up just toooooo light as is so natural!

I think the reason that I'm not a huge fan of makeup is because sometimes it seems that people are using makeup as a mask and I don't think that anyone should feel like they need to do that.

I agree that it is best to maintain our beauty as naturally as possible.

there are really people who put on heavy make up wherein they may look llike a clown but there are also those where it matches them. but a light one is okay. it's a choice and if they feel good about themselves even if not for others it's okay.
let's stay beautiful the natural way.

I think that it is a great thing that there are people like you and myself that like to find their own style.

I don't put on my face. I keep it on my head 24/7. LOL
Seriously though, I hardly ever wear makeup. I think the last time I did was for my avatar and that was back in July of last year. And even then it was only lipstick.
I don't care to wear a bunch of gunk on my face. I'd much rather go natural. Not only does it save time, but it saves money too! Money I'd rather spend on more important things, like my family.
Happy mylotting!

I never thought about not using makeup as a way to save money, but you are completely correct. I've not spent money on it and it does mean that I can do more for my children.

I always love to feel fresh and presentable so I shower every morning and put my mineral powder that I love so much on. It helps even out my coloring and conceals the blemishes and helps with oil control. So it depends for a lot of people I guess what they use but I found one that is functional for me. It really feels nice on and very light. I usually just have this on with a bit of blush and lip gloss or lip balm. Usually it is very natural looking but if I am going out I will really do my eyes more dramatic looking. This is always fun to create new looks and things. If I am stuck I watch a video on youtube like a makeup tutorial and get my inspiration like that. Its fun. I am not afraid to experiment either.

I do think it looks nice when people wear very little makeup that will enhance their natural beauty. What I'm not a fan of is those that use makeup as a mask.

I almost always put on at least concealer and a mineral powder. When I go to work I use a light foundation and concealer and finish it with the mineral powder. I'm kinda all about the mineral make up right now. When we're camping and stuff like that I don't wear any but if we're around town I do. If we're going out I'll put on mascara, a little eye shadow and some blush but I never use eyeliner. I am a lip balm addict and I have several different kinds with me at all times but I don't think I even own a lipstick anymore.

I like lip balms and lip glosses because they feel very light to me. I'm not a fan of a full foundation because it feels heavy to me, however, I've never tried any of the mineral makeups.

You are right. I'm one of those who cant leave home without it.
And my skin has a few blemishes, so i really have to wear make up to conceal.
As long as its not heavy and gaudy, i think a women should brighten up her face with some whenever she goes out.
You never know who you might meet out there.

I can see why you feel this way. However, I don't mostly because of the fact that I grew up with a mother that didn't really bother with makeup and that is why I don't tend to bother with it either.

same as you, i rarely use makeup. i'd put on lipstick once or twice a year, for special occasions but that's it. i find the whole idea of putting on makeup troublesome. i like it when my face is clean and there's nothing between my skin and the wind. my sister, like your sister-in-law, don't leave home without makeup. she has to wake up an hour earlier just to put on her makeup. i'd rather sleep an hour later.

I believe that everyone is entitled to their own feelings of vanity. For me, I like to keep things natural, but there are others that don't feel that they have a natural beauty.

I hardly ever use it. Never really did. I started wanting too last year but I just get the hang of the eyeshadow stuff. When I go out to a bar/club I will wear mascara and lipstick and eyeliner. Foundations never look right nor do they stay on me so its real simple with me. I am trying lately to wear mascara every day as it enhances my eyes and I should wear lipstick as my lips are thin and colorless lol! My sister on the other hand will not leave her house for any reason unless she is fully made up. She has been late to so many things it is not even funny!!! It takes her hours to get ready between the shower, hair and makeup and it drives us all nuts!! But she is who she is and so you can pretty much just bank on her being late :)

For me, I will never use foundation because it always feels heavy on me, like my face is unable to breathe.

Even when she's staying at home all day, my sister gets up, puts on full makeup, including false eyelashes before she does anything else. She takes an hour and a half to get where she wants to be. I take roughly ten minutes, and that's only if I have something special to attend!

I could not begin to imagine going to the extent of using false eyelashes. That, in my opinion, is taking things just a little bit too far.

It wouldn't be the end of the world if I left without my face fixed. I only put cover up under my eyes because I have dark circles under them. I will also put a little bit of lipstick. That is it. As for the liquid makeup, eye shadow, macscara and eye liner, no thank you I can't be bothered with all that garbage. This is why when I get ready to go out I can be ready in 15 minutes and that is taking a shower, dressing, and hair.

You are quicker than I am and that is for sure. There was a time that I could be up and ready in less than 10 minutes, but these days it is different because I have the kids to worry about as well.

Me too, i don't wear make-up not even a lipgloss. But there's one thing i can't do without when i have to leave the house during daytime, and that is putting on sunblock.
On special occasions, though, i wear make-up.Lightly, i just groom my eyebrows, put on a pastel beige lipstick and some pressed powder.

For the overall health of our skin, I believe that it is important to wear sunscreen on our faces.

If I am leaving the house to go to the school or shopping or something I just put on a little bronzing powder and maybe a little mascara. I'm not one of those people who has to put on make up just to put the rubbish out, even if I am having a bad skin day.

I think that simple is very nice because of the fact that we are able to show our natural beauty when we keep things simple.

hi dorannmwin oh when i was younger I used to do the whole bit, foundation eye shadow, not mascara, but lipstick then found that in a few hours the foundation was sliding off my skin and just making a mess. Now all I do is put on some lipstick and a bit of eyeshadow and comb my hair, and I am off downstairs. I know some who go through the whole thing just to go to the grocery store. waste of time, and money when it willnot adhere to my skin anyway. I use a little eye shadow as my blue green eyes are my best feature, and of course having long hair I must brush it before going anywhere so my bangs do not get in my eyes and cause me to stumble and fall, God forbid.

You remind me so much of my grandma, but she never did give up wearing makeup. She even had to take the time to apply her makeup before she went into the hospital the last time so that she would look presentable. I often wonder why my mother and I don't really bother with makeup when my grandma was so big on vanity.

I cannot go out without putting sunblock and lip gloss, if the surrounding is raining and in a low pressure condition, I just put pressed powder instead of sunblock. I only wear make up when attending parties or social gatherings but not on my day to day work in the office, I find very uncomfortable wearing make up when I am in the work place.

I definitely agree with you that sunblock is very important. However, I don't really tend to think of sunblock as being makeup, it is rather a necessity for the long-term health of our skin.

As far as I am concerned, I think I am a man ,just with little or even nothing makeup, I think that is OK for me. I do not like to wear the makeup alll day long as a woman, which may make me feel unconfortable in my daily life. I just want to have a relaxed life.

I don't wear makeup usually. As for me, as long as you take care of your face, like washing it regularly, putting on moisturizer plus positive thoughts and peace of mind, you will certainly look more beautiful than those who wear makeups. But I have nothing against those who wear them all the time. Because it's their choice, and sometimes it's needed for their job or whatever they do in their lives.
NATURAL BEAUTY THOUGH IS STILL THE BEST!

Much like you, I think that it is an unnecessary thing for me to wear makeup, but I don't have anything against those people that do choose to wear makeup on their faces.

On the rare occasions out, then I think that eyeshadow and blush are nice, but on a day to day basis I don't personally find it necessary.
