How you sustain/react to frequent blank calls?

Now and then it is very accustomed to receive blank calls from unfamiliar nos.I just wonder why some freaks waste their time & money by calling others.Recently I have been receiving blank calls & sms from some unfamiliar nos.Even answering them very rudely and threatening them they continued to call everyday. When I use to barred those nos they started calling from some others nos.It was unbearable to sustain such kind of mental harassment so I called up the local cops & gave them the list of such nos.After getting a nice treat from the cops they stopped calling.But again the same thing happened after few days back.Better to get out of this mess I changed my own number & now I am relieved.Actually thing like a simcard is so accessible that people misuse them.Should there be any number to provide or to restrict the usage of sim?

I know how you feel. I get calls from unlisted numbers! Now where do you get an unlisted phone number from? It can only be government agencies. Why are they wasting tax payer money to bug me?
The simcard is nothing. The phone itself can be traced to within 100 meters of your exact location even when not making a call. It's frightening to know how insecure a mobile phone can be.
