Nobody likes getting a flew and sitting at home sick. And for people like me it gets even harder when it comes to take pills.I hate pharmaceutical products ...and don't trust them.
The best trick for sore and painful throat is easy and accessible to everyone...since the principal ingredient is a potato. You shred two potatoes, with a splash of vinegar on it and you cover the mixture in a thin towel,so it will look like a compression. After that you put that "compression" on your upper side of your chest. If you repeat this "process" for 2-3days i promise you will get rid of the sore throat and painful coughs.
Oh...two last things :try to do this before you go to sleep and is better if you just wash the area, getting under the blankets right after. The second thing you have to know is that the juice of the mixture stains the clothes so you should be careful with it.
I hope you will find it helpful and don't worry ...they're no side effects :D

I never heard of that remedy for cough and sore throat. maybe. I'll try it sometime. While my mother when I was younger, uses ginger and flour to remedy our cough. She will shred ginger and get its juice and add some flour to make it creamy like batter the put it in a piece of cloth just like a size of match box and stick it at our back and you will have to sleep on it the whole night. It was so hot at the back, she said that the ginger will sip the cold. Well, it was also a good remedy and I've been using it to my children.

Well, when I catch cold, not that I do that very often, but when I do,nothing works on me.It takes its own sweet time of about a week and then slowly subsides. It starts with a sore throat, then transforms to a running nose and finally culminates into cough...:)....Don't think was a very captivating description but for me,that's my cold's life cycle. The second stage is the toughest for me when I sneeze like about hundred times before moving on to the next stage. All medicines including Vicks Vaporub and all homely treatments also give me temporary relief only. However,I have never tried this potato thing before. We'll see. Thanks for at anyways.

i'm lucky i usually only get a flu like thing once a yr, and i can get away with the cold and flu tablets you can get from the supermarket. they solve my problem. i will be keeping it in mind for, others.
there is another one, rub vicks on your chest and put on your feet. and it will help sweat it out.
