What's The Last Thing On Your Mind?

After a very long day at work, in school, in the field and after all the hassles and struggles of your day what is the last thing that you would think of before going to sleep?
On my end, I would usually think of the things that I need to do for the next day. It's like I'm listing it in mind the tasks that I have for work and I would try to think of some ways in advance on how to get everything done in a soonest possible time. So by the next morning all I have to do is to implement the ideas that I have prepared the other night and everything would work smoothly.
Do you have the same things in mind too before going to sleep?

well i've the same things in mind as you but in addition to that i also think about that day. how that day went and if i didn't like naything how would i change it or prevent it from happening again! sometimes i am just too tired and happy that the day is over and doze off as soon as i crash the bed!

This is a very interesting topic that I can have a think of myself for a while. Usually, I am very lazy, even do not konw what I have done, what I should do and what I will do. I had a lot of targets, but few positive actions, so what I always do before my going asleep is playing with the computer, for example, watching movies and series, especilly when I feel it is hard to fall asleep. Every night, I lie on my bed with my toplap and sometimes I fall asleep with the sounds of some TV programs. In fact, I know it is not a good habbit, I realise that I should get some change for that but I donot konw how to get started. You konw, when it is night, the only thing I can think of is just my computer.... Maybe I need some help and it will be very pleasant if you guys give me some useful advice.
Also I think you have a good habbit of that. You arrange your goals for the coming day. You are active not just thinking and you might know what you want. I should learn from you.

Hi ssxiona. Do not worry to much about your so called "bad habit". I believe that there are times when we really feel lazy and it seems that we don't want to work. All you need is to think of the things that would motivate you to work. If it won't work then bribe your self, think of something great or giving yourself a reward when a work entrusted to you will be done.

No. If I keep my mind in high gear while I'm trying to fall asleep, I won't be able to fall asleep, so I think of relaxing things...some place we've been or are going to in the near future, my grandchildren, my favorite beaches. I have my normal daily routines down pretty well, and they don't change much, so I don't really have to think about them.

Same here. I also run through my mental lists of Things to Do the following day. I also make a detailed schedule of my day such as what time I should wake up, should I drink coffee or tea, and other mundane things, so that I do not have to make the decision on the spot the following day. But sometimes, I brood over past painful events and analyze how I could prevent it from happening. There are also times when I savor a particularly happy event that day and review every detail until I fall asleep with a smile.

Thinking over past painful events might not be so easy. It's good that you will find some solutions or ideas on how to prevent it but if those events had happened to you personally don't you think that it would only remind you of the pain and anguish when it did happened?

Oh, I think your habbit is very good. Before the next day, making a plan will be very beneficial to us. That will make our lives more oderly, planned... In most of the time, I will also try to think of some ways in advance on how to get everything
done before the next day coming. But I found one important thing, plans always change very quickly. I usually will do two things at the same time before going to sleep, relection and planning...

Yes Bingheol, I usually do plan things before going to sleep. At least, the next morning my 2 hour time will be focused in preparing breakfast for my husband and the things that he needs for work and I could prepare myself too. And once I'm in the office I exactly know what to do and how to start my day.

Right now first thing that came to mind is I tell myself "shut up and go to sleep!" I think about all kinds of stuff when I'm laying in bed, I'm not comfortable, I need to do this or that tomorrow, I forgot to do this today! I think about all types of random thoughts but I always tell myself to calm down and go to sleep b/c if not you're going to be up all night just thinking about what you need to do and when morning comes you'll be too tired to do any of it or you'll have forgotten!
So what I've been doing lately is writing it down on my dry erase board. It helps me get things off my mind and once I'm donw with one task I erase it and start the next. Through out the day I'm always putting more things but I try to work off of the priority of what I'm listing. I know people say when you're making a list not to list more then 5 major things at a time b/c if you so the list will look overwhelming and you won't even touch the list. It's true.
For me right now I'm unemployed and I though it would be easy getting things one but It's not. It's harder I think b/c yu have all this time and it's not your routine so you do random things yes that need to get done but not the things that are more important. I've been off work for 5 weeks and am barely getting my routine. I start work again on 4/19 so I think for next week I'm going to just relax b/c I haven't been since I got laid off b/c I have so much planning and stuff to do on how we're going to pay our bills and what not cutting back here and there and that alone is time consuming
