I read about a dozen books a month. My reading rate has gone up since I got rid of cable and also because I'm involved in the adult summer reading program. I read a lot of science fiction and (of late)memoir. I enjoy books, but do not call them friends.

My husband and I may not get cable when we first get our own place so we're stocking up on books now. Easier said for me as books help soothe me when I am stressed, but hubby's thing to do when stressed is play video games. I wasn't aware there was an adult summer reading program!

Yes, I certainly do have a habit of reading books every month, and I try even to read every day.I really couldn't say how many books I read every month, as it depends on the month and it also depends on the books that I read in the course of a particular month. It really varies.

I read at least two books a month, but read so many other things every single day. I love mystery, crime, thrillers, anything that will keep me on the edge of my seat.

I like to read, but have spurts where I don't read. That being said I could say that if it is a good enough book, I don't have anything to distract me, and nothing to do, I can finish a book in one day. I like western, romance, crime, Pioneer (or rather immigration to the US as long as it's fiction).
Books are not my best friend but they sure do help me not to stress about things.

I am an avid reader. I love to read sooo much. I read about 8 - 12 or so books a month (about 2 - 3 per week). Although, now I have cable tv and internet, so I won't be reading quite as much because that stuff will take up some of my reading time.
I like reading thriller/suspense/mystery type of books. I am currently reading The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown.
No, I wouldn't say books are my best friends.

I buy books regularly and read them as soon as I buy them.On an average I buy 3-4 books a month and borrow from others too so read nearly 5-6 books a month. I love all kinds of books but mostly suspense thrillers, political thrillers and social themes..Books definitely play an important part in my life.In fact when I find someone with whom I can discuss books I tend to become friends with them..

I love books and I read every now and then. The average book I read every month is two, though I wanted to read as much as I could, sometimes I cannot afford this luxury because of some paperworks to finish and when I got home I am too tired to open a book, but I always make it a point to read online news and online non-fiction stories.

I like reading mystery books. It works the brain and very interesting. Books by Dan Brown are a good read too. I like to read at least 1 book a month whenever I have the time. =)

I'm starting to get into reading again. My "New Years Resolution" was to read at least one book a month. So far I've been surpassing that with 2 or 3. I'm a pretty slow reader (it's easy to get distracted with a 2 year old in the house) so I don't think I could read any more than 3 a month
I like to read memoirs, chick lit, crime/mystery. Anything that sounds interesting. Right now I'm reading "The Puzzle King" by Betsy Carter
