The vegetarian diet has predominantly spread across the entire western continents or for everyone that has television and watched famous people talks about this advocacy.
For some, it is mainly because of health issues and for some, it is because of animal rights.
Before you decide on getting to this kind of diet, you must know that it is very important to include meat on our diet. It is the number one source of protein which is greatly needed to produce chemicals and substance that protects our body. Supplements is not enough to substitute. And besides, if you want to put something foreign in to your body, isn't better that you eat real food?
And last point. if you want to know if you are meant to meat, just research about your teeth. Human teeth has:
16 incisor: cut
8canines:stab, pierce
8premolars:chew
20 molars: mastification/grind
We have Carnivores set of teeth which means design to cut, stab, pierce, chew and mastificate meat.
However, it is your choice. But in my opinion, just have a balanced diet.

I think it is the choice between vegetarian and nonvegetarian and as far as one is taking perfectly balanced diet, there should be no problem. Yes, I agree that we are well equippd with strong teeth but at the same time we also have strong hands, does it mean that we should start beating and killing others? No. Many people prefer vegetarian food only and will not eat nonvegetarian food in any circumstances and that's why doctors never disclose the contents of the live saving medicines (of nonvegetarian origin.

Funny, but when I tried to be a vegetarian I got sick. Now before vegetarians starts skewering me with carrot sticks, the reason why I got sick was because my physical activity was not suited to removing protein drastically. As with every kind or type of food, moderation is the key. There are some vegetables that cause discomfort to me and my mom, such as legumes that are high in uric acid. So even if we only eat legumes without meat, our uric acid levels get high and our joints hurt. We are following the time tested way of eating meat, which is only once or twice a week. If people can recall, about a hundred years ago before the introduction of fast foods and instant food, people were a lot healthier because they moved more physically and ate meat once or twice a week, or even none at all because it was expensive.

variety and balance diet are the key to a healthy diet, and i believe meat is a essential part of it, but which meat? i like to believe that fish are the best source and not those cultured animals like swine, beef and chicken..
and the abundance of fish makes me believe that nature actually put it that way.

A variety is good. So is a balanced diet. But beans and nuts and even eggs have much more protein than some of your meats! I am not vegetarian, but I have been and I lean that way in my well balanced diet. I don't think we "need" meat but I think it doesn't hurt us to eat it occasionally.

I am a devout vegetarian and have been so since the age of 13, but I do agree with what you are saying; humans are meant to be omnivores.
I have strong opinions about animal welfare and last semester I wrote a paper on how wrong the way we produce meat is, and just how horrible our entire food production industry is (which I got an A on and I'm very proud of).
That said, I choose to not support factory farming so I am vegeterian.
