Can her family sue the school district?
The teacher said that he won’t be filing assault charges as long as the child writes an apology letter to him and delivers it to him by next week. He’s treating her like some sort of criminal, which she is not. either way, her family want to sue the school district for letting one of they’re teacher’s provoke there daughter into punching him.

Hi, reoko10. I am thinking that if the teacher had hit her without her hitting the teacher, then the parents can sue the district. If I was her, I would just write an apology letter so that I won't have to go to jail. What did the teacher do or say that was so bad that would cause the student to punch him?? This is my question and concern.

I agree with you, this story is clearly one-sided. I also feel like what's missing is : what exactly provoked the girl to punch the teacher? I personally hate it when people try to create an argument when its clearly one sided when presented. It is like trying to deceive everybody and take everybody as idiots.

her family can sue but it will depend on the circumstances. on what did the teacher do to provoke the student. It will be better if their are others who witnessed this event.

I dont think so teacher is wrong.How come some one punch his own teacher?There may be some clash there in between them but still punching isnt appropriate thing she has done.
Its good that teacher hasent give complain yet and is expecting apology from her.It shows he is wise teacher and he is kind to her.

I think it depends on whether the teacher had something to do with it. Her family can sue but if there is no evidence that the teacher did something wrong that made the girl to punch then verdict will be one sided on the teachers side.

Nope, it is the girls fault that she punched the teacher in the face. We all have to be accountable for our actions. I hate to admit it but, the way YOU PRESENTED this STORY is CLEARLY ONE-SIDED. If this were more objective, I could answer this better or have more basis.
