applications for mobiles

I've heard about applications for mobiles but I don't know how to instal them as well as use them too. though I have an updated phone most of the features are unused.help out please.

most of nokia phones is depending on java and symbian if u have nokia mobile there is 2 steps
1.download file by internet
2.and press on downloaded file twice it will be ask you permission then press yes now it will be install automatically.
if you have other mobiles like iphone and blacberry you have to download apps synce it with desktop.

you can search through the internet for applications. you can do the downloading directly from your mobile or through your computer. Afterward, you can copy the installation files to your phone then install them. Just make sure the application is compatible for your phone otherwise it will not work properly.
