Have you ever had some horrible event, or perhaps a horrible period of time in your life, that turned out to have good effects in the long run? I'm talking about things like having a loved one pass away, and then years later realizing how strong and indepandant you can be. My family moved from a very urban area to a nearly-rural area when I was just about to start high school. I had an awful time trying to fit in and frind new friends, and I was just so profoundly depressed throughout high school (I'm 19 now, and I can really say it was the worst, lonliest part of my life so far). Recently, I have come to realize a knack for writing that I have. After I finished high school, I took a year or so off before deciding to take some classes at a community college. In that time, I became a total bookworm and tried out writing short stories and whatnot in a journal. When I started taking classes, one of them was English and my teacher seemed really impressed with my writing style and ability. I got an A in the class, which I am very proud of, and that kind of gave me "proof" to myself that I'm any good. Now I apsire to be a screenwriter and a novelist. Now I am thankful for that bad time in my life, because there were certain events in it that directly inspred and contributed to some of my writings, and I know that without it I would not be wanting to be a writer.

Some bad events can really have some good influence on our future and on our own character. Sometime I face failure and this can bring me down but I always get up and I remind myself that I can be and I MUST be the BEST that I can be.Still I have many plans to choose from ,but I hope you will achieve your goals and thank you for sharing this with us ,I really needed some motivation now and some reminding of my own goals. Thank you very much!

The experiences of bad time motivate our to grow up; in contrast,it also can create negative effects. People choose their lifestyle by themselves, when encount in the difficult situation.some peole ,like you, chose the positive lifestyle that can help you step out the difficult period;others would addict in drinking, etc. We need to become more strong than before, directly face the rough time, and never give up.

Hi there Olisaur, That old saying that everything happens for a reason really seems to hold true. I can look back on all the very worst times and events in my life and if there were anyway to erase them, I have to say that I would not. Take away any one of those times would greatly alter or remove a ton of other things that were good or set in motion some good things. Even if the changes were not obvious physical ones, there were changes in my spirit, emotions and inner strength. Congratulations on finding your inner otherwise hidden talents!

That's great that you were able to benefit from what you thought was a bad time. Most things happen for a reason, I've found, and we can benefit from the worst things imaginable. The worst time in my life was when my husband left me and the kids. It took me quite awhile to get over that because bad as the marriage was I loved him. Now I'm fairly content with my life and enjoying my freedom. I found out a lot about myself through that experience and have grown a lot because of it. My boys are men now and are confident and independent. They live in the same city as their dad but I finally got to come back home, 1800 miles away from there. So it was a good thing.
