But were they lucky as at 0-0, Aston villa had a nailed down penalty not given. Do you think that moment was the game changer. Or do you think even if Villa would have scored, Chelsea would still have steam rolled them in the final analysis. Goals from Drogba, Malouda and Lampard sealed the deal for Chelsea.
Cheers!

Hi ram,
I think it would be a different story if Aston Villa get the penalty and score from it. It is especially when it is happen on the early game (on the 16 minutes). Aston Villa will be more spirited especially when they were just lost 7-1 fortnight ago to the same team.
All the pressure would be on Chelsea to find a goal to make it level. That might cause them more bad passes and tensions. Their play might not as fluent as when the score still at nil nil.
And when we look at the two last goal that Chelsea scored, that are scored at the end of the match. It is because Aston Villa go all forward to look for a goal to bring the game to extra time. This open up more space for Chelsea to play a counter attack. And they got two more goals from it.
But the game was over and there is no "if" in football. What is happen on the field can not be change and the result is what it is. Everyone can blame the referee for the penalty claim incident but Chelsea is worth for what they got.
They have two trophies to look for this season, FA Cup and Championship. And they got a big chances to take it both.

That was just coincident and Aston Villa being very unfortunate has to face it twice on their two visit to Wembley this season. But that is football. Sometimes you would got help from the controversial decision and sometimes you are at the wrong side.
All they can do is complain about the referee and his assistant to the FA and hope there would be some change for incoming games. But I do not believe it could be totally wipe out (about the mistake by the referee). Referees also a human being and they do mistake. Unfortunately their mistake might happen to make some people lost or win the game.

It was a defo penalty but that seems to be the luck with Wembley. To be fair the ref was partially blocked by lampard when the infringement occurred so he wasnt 100% certain. Goals change games and I believe it would have been a different story had Villa scored. Besides they would have wanted to avenge the drubbing they got from Chelsea earlier on, promptly putting their earned title as the best defense in the league this season to the sword.
I wanted spurs to win the other semi as it would have been a closer FA final..I see Chelsea running away with it now coz lets be honest Pompey will not be able to match Chelsea. Unless a miracle happens!

I think actually the referee did get a good view even though Lampard partially blocked him. But the linesman would have had a real clear view and it should have been a nailed down penalty. What a final!! Probably the first and last in the league are going to take on each other with Pompey now in the finals!!
Cheers!
