MyLotters, it's been a mystery to my why kakashi always have a covering for his lower face. It has been that way ever since he was a child (as shown in episode 119 and 120). Have you really wondered why? Share your idea why.

The author Masashi Kishimoto has no idea how to draw Kakashi (LOL). So he cover Kakashi's face with a mask.

A child's simple reasoning, but still, I like it. Thanks for your opinion. You made me smile... :)

Eppie has it right: it's rooted in Kakashi's resentment against his father, who he deemed a traitor and a disgrace for having prized his teammates' lives over the success of the mission. It's curious that he continues to wear it even after Obito expressed awe over what Kakashi's father did and even calling the White Fang a hero. Considering how he parrots Obito's own words (A ninja who doesn't follow the rules is trash, but a ninja who abandons his friends is worse than trash), it's obvious he's subscribed himself to that way of thinking, but hey. Maybe he's just gotten used to it.
Then again, Kakashi apparently looks so much like his father that Chiyo-baachan thought he was the White Fang despite the mask. LOL, Kakashi. What's the mask for? :D

I've seen that episode and it's somewhat given a background for kakashi's attitude. But hey, I never knew that he still harbors some feelings of resentment being his father's son and that he looks a bit like him...Up to now, I'm still wondering what his lower face looks like. Perhaps, he just don't want to be bothered by girls running after him if he did show his lower face huh? LOL

Although this is a bit far fetch but I am sensing that the reason for Kakashi cover half of his face because he might have the "fangs of a wolf" (taking the clue from his father's nick name and also he summons dogs) and some of his jutsu have some wolf or dog reference.

I think it is because kakashi doesn't want to be seen like his father. His father looks a lot like him and on kakashi's early age he hated his father.
