I woke up this morning and one more year had past, I am now in my 69th year and facing this with Joy and I hope a great deal of laughter. I will give effort toward the welfare of my body but my main goal is grow in my mind spirit connection. Toward this end I read a lot and listen to what others have to say. It is a learning process and yet demands attention to details that this time in life allows me to give. I know that goals are important but in this case much is unknown to me so I will just enjoy the process. I wanted to tell you all that I respect and learn from all of you. Thank you.

I wish you a happy 69th birthday. What are we here for but to learn from each other while fostering friendship.

looks like being 69 is the best part of life...while 33 has gone so maybe this could be a very promising year for our friend here.

I once saw a movie, the movie title was "A Man From the Earth". It tells a story about a man who live for 14000 years because of some disease. Well I wouldn't be that man if someone offered me to be like him. To grow old with your loved ones and seeing your children and grandsons/daughters grow I think will be the happiest.

I wouldn't like that either. Many years ago I read a Science Fiction story about a man who's brain they kept alive and just changed his body every 50 years or so. All the time I was thinking I wouldn't like that very much, think how tired you get of just living, how could you face one more breakfast?

But to be honest, aren't we all a bit tempted at being eternally youth? Never grow old, never experience illness, and soon?

I hope you had a great day. As I get older I get happier it is true because even when life isn’t ideal having a little more wisdom behind me sure helps me handle problems. Joy is important, joy in the little things, appreciation for life is something that increases with age and there is such a thing as a young spirit and you cannot put an age on your soul. We are all different and being a certain ‘number’ does not dictate how we should live and there you are 69 years young!

Congrats, I hope you enjoy this journey the way I do.With each and every year I find my life more enjoyable.Honestly,I was thinking about lower number, but then I looked at my mother who's now 65 and she's such a rocket comparing with me,and I say to myself:who said that age matters?Watch and learn. Long live Pat!

Somewhere along the line we reach a turning point in what we are doing with life and how we are living it. I think in the last year or two I have done that as well. It is just a different feeling altogether, to know that we are "maturing" and aging regardless, and to take joy in the process.

Hi savypat, Happy Birthday and I think you have taught all of us something in this discussion. We do need to be able to laugh and to take care of our bodies but we also need to realize that we still have much to learn.I will be 71 this year and I too believe that it's a learning process, I never seem to have time to read and watch everything I want. At my age I'm not really big on goals, I know I'm not going to learn it all here anyway. Sadly, the older we get the faster time seems to go and also the more we realize how little we truly know. Blessings.

Yeah, that's much better to do, not to worry about anything, to enjoy life as it comes. Worrying makes us sick and lonely, so why fret? I believe that it is our choice to be happy in whatever we do or in whatever situation are we in now. And besides it is easy to handle enjoyment and happiness than worrying and thinking. So let's just cheer up and enjoy!
