My friend was asked to fill out a census form, which also ask him to fill out his SSN. Is that a legit process of a census form? Because a social security number is kind of a sensitive information, which shouldn't be sent out without a reason. After we search on the website, a legit census form should not ask about personal SSN. They are simple survey form which will only ask about the number of people living within your household, that is all. So, beware about it.

There should be warnings about this kind of stuff. Yes, census takers will be asking your age and birth date, but not your social security number or financial information. If someone comes to your door and asks you for this information, you should excuse yourself, and go in and call the police immediately! This is an attempt to steal your identity, and it is a crime. Let's put a stop to it.

Goog info kingpacker. No, the legitimate census form does not ask for your social security number. I'm not surprised that scammers have gotten in on the act. I hope they're caught and stopped before they're able to prey on too many unsuspecting people.
