If you want your discussions to come in today top's follow this method...
1)The discussion u have been post in mylot...be sure..the discussions is little bit extra ordinary...don't post discussion which already been asked by someone else...
2)Write the description of your discussion as long as possible..and meaningful..
3)If you getting a response on your discussion what is your task..give the comment on the response u had got..be descriptive(4-5 lines) when u give comment...
4)it is not necessary to give comment in every response u had get..just give 5-6 comment on first upcoming response..
Then see..i'm wrong or right..
It really works...

Your observations are good, but you forgot some very important ideas, fortune(we need luck too), a circle of friends who support you, an easy discussion, which will attract many answers, ask advice of others is a good idea also, very importantly, time to start discussion, it is usually the time difference between Europe and other continents, and CAN discussion should be debated, have already passed 24 hours. There are many prerequisites to have a discussion on Top.Good luck!

you gotto be kidding me man---A discussion would hold on for longer under the HOT category(which means more mylotters come accross it and there by more chances of getting responses) if you have back and forth interactions in your discussion-----it need not to be started specifically in MYLOT interest to have a hit discussion-----it holds good for all interests provided you have a catchy title.you can experiment though in your coming discussions.great day.
