I was making rounds in the hospital. Unknowingly, somebody brought a chichacorn from Ilocos. She left it in our table in the doctor's lounge. It is a delicacy from the northern Philippine provinces. it has made corn crispy like chicharon. My co-resident and I who was on duty that night nibbled it the whole night with Diet Coke.

Oh, i love chichacorn. I think we should term it in English as fried corn kernels, or just fried corn. It's the way it is prepared anyway, fried and salted to add taste. My mom used to buy it in small bags and I could consume the contents of the bag in a couple of hours. lol. Oh, I prefer Pepsi with it,

Well, it's what is called in our country so let it be. Hmm, I noticed almost all of your discussions are about Philippine food?

I love chichacorn too! I was fortunate enough to visit Ilocos last January, and when the buying of "pasalubong" came, I didn't failed to buy the infamous Ilocos chichacorn. I bought the sweet and spicy variant and the barbeque flavor, nothing really beats the crunchy taste of chichacorn. Perfect for chilling out and nibbling at home or at work.

That would be very good midnight snacks for the two of you. Did you try to deep it in the usual sauce? It would be made it more tasty if you deep it in the vinegar.

I really love chicharon. I haven't tasted the chicharon from Ilocos though, how I wish I could taste it. It really tastes so good, especially with vinegar. mmmmm... numnum... Now I feel hungry, even if i just ate. You made me think of buying chicharon at the store. thanks for sharing.
