Why? Low self-esteem and vanity. From personal experience better looking people with low self-esteem need reassurance that they are pretty or good-looking. They want attention and need to be told often that they are attractive or they will ask if they are pretty. They'll get angry if the respond is not what they are looking for. Poor things! It is better to have a good character than to be good-looking and ugly inside. BTW, I'm a plumpy plain jane. ;)

Do you think that they ask just because they need an answer for that, or that they ask just to start a discussion? If someone doesn't know how to start a clever discussion, then he chooses something like that.

I just read a discussion which had a joke concerning 'butterface'. It pertain to a guy's comment about a girl's face when he went to talk to her, and butterface really meant 'but her face'. Another discussion was basically the same subject matter pertaining to how ugly a women's face was, but they look good from behind. Are there more important things to talk about in this world than analyzing women's looks. This is why so many women have eating disorders and low self-esteen, because of these critical attitudes from men.I was curious though, who men would choose, a girl with a beautiful face or a beutiful body. No one answered my question, but I guess they would go for the face judging by the current discussions going on.

I agree looks attract but personality sticks with you , Why does it matter on the Internet lol , we could look terrible and no one knows . I am siting here with my Nightie and my dressing gown on and I am only too pleased you My lotters cant See me lol , Hubby thinks I look lovely and that's what matters, but then I think he still sees me as 16 , love is blind thank goodness xxx

Many of the replies seem to make sense, from people with low self esteem to just wanting some attention. It may even be that they're fakes, a possibility someone pointed out. It also seems to bring out the taunting & cruelty of those replying, but my favorite reply to them are those not answering the question but"Oh, no! Not another one of those discussions".

Reality is some people are very insecure and are looking for attention whereever they can get it. I agree there is inner and outer beauty and you can have 1 without the other.

They do it for attention to their post. I doubt those pictures are even them. They must get a good laugh, or they are completely full of themselves.

I do not look at the outside of a person to see how pretty they are. I talk to them and get to know them even if other people tell me they are not good looking. How can you know what a person is like in the heart if you don't give them the chance to make a friendship with you. As the saying goes beauty is only skin deep. You my dear gabs8513 from reading your discussions and your responses are a very beautiful person. You care about people and that is obvious. I read your story about Gissi and it was very touching. The eyes streamed down my eyes as I read it. Our little four legged friends are a very deep part of our families. A person has to love themselves deep inside of their hearts and then their beauty will shine forth.

I could not agree with you more on this. The main reason for such questions is simply a bid to gain lots of responses to boost up their earnings. Too many people are only interested on how much response they can get, and often do not even bother to read the replies. Personally, I much prefer to use the site as the forum that it was designed to be and allow the earnings or ratings to look after themself. If I am not going to enjoy my time here then a few dollars is not worth the effort.
