Best responses

I find giving some the best response very rewarding if they really deserve it by writing a really good response. But sometimes there might not be any answers that deserve to be marked the best response. In these cases I might not give a best response at all, even though I always would like to... So do you mark best responses in your discussions? If so, how long do you wait for new answers to the discussion before deciding which one is the best? And what do you in case there's no satisfactory answer to be rewarded with the best response tag?

As per the guidelines you should wait for one week before giving a BR---but it would be upto---you can also select one in few minutes too.most of it this post would be deleted man as many have covered this topic until now---sorry about that

I actually did use it but saw no discussions but the only things I came up with were discussions about if people give best responses. That wasn't eaxactly my question, the main idea here is how long people wait before deciding who gets the best response and what if they feel that nobody deserves it :)

I haven't tried yet in giving BEST RESPONSE in my discussion. I don't know what is that all about. But I got 1 BR so far and it feels good and flattering that what you've done was acknowledged.

Giving a BR feels as good as getting one, I think you should start giving BR:s ;)

I do give a best response if the response is deserving of it, that is. I will wait for a very long time before I give best response. I will sometimes wait months. I still have some discussions that I have as yet to give the best response, but I will get to them eventually. I certainly don't like to rush it, as I want to make sure the discussions isn't getting responded to anymore, and I do have some that aren't getting anymore responses, so I can give the best response at anytime. As long as we wait at least a week before we give the best response, then anytime after that we can give it. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Yeah, I guess I like to wait quite a bit also since it'd be pretty stupid to give a best response before people have stopped answering the discussion. If you give it when people are still answering the discussion, someone might come up with something better than what you thought was the best response you'd get and at least I wouldn't like that :)

If a response is truely deserving of the best response mark, I will give it. But I do have a few discussions that are unresolved due to the fact that there is either multiple answers that I would say were "best responses" or none of the response are deserving of that title. I would much rather receive a best response notation if I am truely deserving of it rather than the way some pick. (ie first response)
