Is Viagra a wise thing with a heart condition?

I'm wondering if anyone here could help me.
A good buddy of mine has as heart condition and he says he has been using Viagra but didn't consult his doctor first.
This kinda worries me, as I also have a heart condition and even though Viagra does not interest me, I was warned that it was a bad idea to use it because I had a bad heart by my cardiologist and also my doctor.
So is my buddy safe doing what he is doing? Should he go see a doctor and make sure it is safe?

Evidence shows that viagra doesn't generally increase the risk of heart problems unless patients have 'unstable' (a set of specific types of) heart disease... he should be speaking with a doctor... you might put in a call to a local pharmacy - they would a pharmacist should be able to educate you enough to let you know how much danger your friend is really in... Without having to pay a thing... or having to stress until you get your friend to see a doctor! :)
But yeah I agree with the other posts, if he somehow got the Viagra another way, he should still be seeing a doctor. Best wishes.

No, actually that is pretty stupid, knowing he has a heart condition and using that product anyway. First off how did he get viagra, it's a prescription medication, it's not over the counter? If he want's to go on living, I would suggest, strongly, that he see his doctor before it's too late.

Yes, I thought it was a bit daft too.
The thing that worries me the most is that I think he may have got them on the internet, so he doesn't even know if there is other stuff in the tablets!!
