mylots Today in class my teacher told us that scientist have proven that driving when your tired is as bad as driving when your drunk. Now if that is true then what is worse driving when you are tired or drink when your intoxicated. I would have to go with tired because you may fall asleep behind the wheel when your drunk you know for a fact sometimes you would be wide awake and know what your goal is to drive home safe but when your tired its a whole different deal you may fall asleep at a red light or something.

Yes its true. It happened to me. I was tired and sleepy while driving. In just a blink of my eye lid my car suddenly came close to a person. its a good thing that i was able to respond quickly and step on the brake. Sometimes, I took on close my eyes while waiting for the red light. Or I will stop my car and sleep for 5 minutes just to get a little rest.

Hi, xx. I agree. It is just as dangerous as if you was driving while drunk. If you drive while you are sleepy, your eyes will close and you can cause and accident or either be a part of one. It is very scary. I think that is if a person feels themselves getting very tired, then they should not drive in their car.. And if they get drowsy on the road they should immediately pull over on the side of the road away from the incoming and outgoing traffic.

Well, I would personally recommend doing neither. I mean if you are tired, it is about as bad as about being drunk. Given the fact that you are impaired either way and will not be able to drive at your fullest potential. I mean, there are times where driving can have hazards if you are on sound mind. Weather, animals and children darting out in the middle of the road, all sorts of things to worry about. With that in mind, you really should not be driving while impaired. It will most certainly do more harm than good. If I had to choose one, I would have to give the nod to drinking drunk. That just always had bad idea written on it for a number of reasons. Now sleeping is not much better, but drinking drunk sounds a bit more idiotic then driving when sleeping.

I think they are the same. Both causes a person to become impaired increasing the possibility for an accident.

I think that they are about the same. If you think about it if you are drunk your judgement is impaired, if your tired to the point that you are falling asleep then your judgement is impaired. Either way you can't keep focused on the road, or really have good judgement and reaction time. Both cases could end up with you in a wreck and injured or killed people.

I think both were worse driving because if you drive and you are sleepy you might end up sleeping while driving and we already knew that it might lead to serious accident. When you are drunk you also have a high chance of getting in to accident just like driving while you are sleepy. If you are really sleepy you can park somewhere...where you think you will be safe and nap for at least 20 to 30 minutes then resume driving. If you are drunk you will lose your concentration then you really have to ask somebody's help to bring you home. It's better to be safe and sound than not at all. Driving drunk is much worse for me and that should never happen at all if you value your life and the life of others.

either one is a big no no, if you value your life and those with you, then you just don't do either. NO questions asked don't do it.

Ooo God..I think these choices can not be discussed because both of them are really terribly..life is important and nobody may lose their life in this situation..

Both. I guess when you are driving drunk you tend to get sleepy. But personally, I've driven drunk a few times but I seem to be alert all the times. Main thing is don't drive if you will drink and don't drink if you will drive.
