What do you think about the many different religions there are?

Do you feel that your faith is the only one that is the right way? Are you accepting of other people's choice of worship? Why or why not? As I grow older I am becoming more and more open minded in my dealing with people of other faiths..I use to be quite rigid; but now I realize people have differenet ways of responding to God and religion is simply that way..

I think that religions are all the same. They talk of and believe in one God, only with different names. We basically have the same beliefs in life. I think the only differences between religions are the traditions, rites, rituals, etc. As for me, I'm a born again Christian, but I don't really believe that much in traditions. I just believe that there is a God up there who loves us all. I don't really care that much about religion.

I am glad you changed your point of view. I have faith in my own religion, and never guilty of belittling, disbelieving, or dishonoring other religions. Each and every one of us has the right to choose our own religions. If one were to study the basic teachings of all religions, it's not hard to discover that all religions teach only the good. However, the method of teaching may vary from religion to religion. If everyone of us respects one another's rights, and be tolerant of one another's religions, then there would be no religious wars and unnecessary bloodshed.

I think wars that claim to have religion as their reason are really not backed by religion or God..God is not in favor disruption and blood shed.. God is love and pro life.

Yes, I think its important to study your faith and pick the Path that's right for you. Many people rely on their Religious beliefs to Guide their life in the direction they need to go, to get to Heaven. How can anyone fault this idea? Everyone has their own understanding of things, and far be it from me to Upset their Applecart!

We will know in the end what was what. I believe there is a God and that He sent His Son to earth.. but others believe in other prophes and Call God by other names. Does it make Him less God simply because others have a different way of calling Him?

By giving everyone a different view, God guaranties us a larger view than any one person can have.Interaction is the only way to see the entire picture. If we are content on keeping our view to ourselves, won't there be a piece missing in that picture.Sure there are growing pains even a little drama but together we walk closer to the understanding of God which is what religion is really all about anyway.I have found no religion really understands God. I have found special pieces hiding in each.In this multilevel classroom called life, we should never run from where the learning isThe Interaction!!

What you have said here many a Theologian is still seeking to understand.. Truly you are right...Each religion is a piece of the bigger picture..which is God.. putting our piece together with others brings us all into one whole..which is God.

Having different kinds of religion is actually a good thing for some cause this will lead them to search for the true church of God in which they would choose to join. People should take it as an opportunity to be able to know the truth and become more diligent and sensitive to God who will help them find the truth. I think there's a purpose for having so many different kinds of religion and it will also test people on how they can strong enough to have faith in God.

As long as we see Church as people and not a building we all will have our feet pointed in the right directions THe buiding is only where .. the people of God come together.. the people themselves the actual Church.

The reality of religion is that it has caused so many wars and much pain to people. We have to distinguish between faith in God which is purely personal, and religion which is forced upon you by mankind. I know who my God is, but I don't know my religion.

I think everyone, at some point in their life, comes to the conclusion that many pains and heartaches have resulted from churches clashing with one another and people of faith becoming overzealous to the point that they want to impose their beliefs on everyone else.

Hi littlefranciscan, I respect all religious faiths and have never understood how anyone could believe that their's was the only way to God. I think that many are like you, as they get older they become less rigid in the way they look at other faiths. I am not religious but spiritual and have ideas that might shock some people but as long as no one is being hurt I say live and let live. Blessings.

I agree.. that we must allow people to be themselves.. Just as we wouldn't want others pushing their faith on us; we mustn't expect them to accept ours..we can be missionaries but true missionaries only invite..never insist.

Hey littlefranciscan! Well in my opinion, religion is a belief. And people who call themselves Atheist also have a religion... a religion of science! And the rest have a religion in God. I for one, believe in good. I am Sikh and am proud to be one. I know that there are religious conflicts all over the world, but we can't really stop them because there will always be hate for each others belief. But it is true, like one of the comments above, that god is in every religion. And although we think that god is different in every religion, he really is not. He is visible and in every religion as the same god. Religion is just a different perspective of viewing God. Anyways, have a great day, or night, and also have an excellent day mylotting! Punjab911!
