Hey mylotters, i am having a bit of trouble with the paypal fees that they charge for sending money to other users. I don't understand how much they charge for anything? Is there any way not to be effected by these fees? The other day I sent my referral 25cents and the person ended up recieving 0$ because of the fee. Can anyone explain me the fees? Thanks a lot!

Actually PayPal claims to apply the same kind of fees to any kind of account, no matter if is a personal, premier or business one.
And if the transfer is a personal one (it means is not about a sell) they says there is no fees.
This means when you send the money to your friend, you should chose the personal transfer and i guess you should specify is a gift.
Otherwise they charge a percentage plus a fix fee, that should be around $0.30.
You can find some more explaination here:

Pierone is right, if you don't want to be charged when sending money to your friends, choose PERSONAL, then under it tick OTHER (I usually tick OTHER and they didn't charge me, like when ticking GIFT too). This way, paypal will not charge you.

It has nothing to do with your account type, actually. The fees all depend on the type of transaction.
If you send money as a payment for goods or services, it's free for you but PayPal will charge the recipient 1.9 to 2.9% of the transaction amount plus a flat rate of $0.30.
Personal transfers don't have fees for either sender or recipient when they're made using either a bank account or your existing PayPal balance. However, if you send money using a credit or debit card, the fees are 2.9% plus $0.30. So if you want to avoid fees, you should make sure the funds are coming from your balance or bank account and are being sent as a personal transfer. You can have your referral refund the transaction to you and resend it that way so they get the full amount.
Hope that helps!

As i have understood- paypal gets only a little percent from the money you send- i don't really know why your friend ended up getting nothing- paypal is only supposed to get maybe 5-7 percent..

I have sent money via PayPal and I have received by friends, but without fees with my premier verified account. Maybe it depends on your type of account, or your country. Are you verified paypal member?

Yes, my account is verrified but not a premier account likt yours. Maybe it is because I was sending it to someone out of my country. Canada to Indonesia, so that might be the case :S
