Why is it that someone dies,all the goods things he done is recalled?

I have just observed these scenarios,that a person who is dead receives all the good feedback when he was still alive,yet when he was still alive,only a portion of those who gives him good views says good to what he does.It feels very sad,that only during someone's death comes what was known from all his daily works,which to my opinion is a waste of time,because he will not felt what others have to say about the greatness of his deeds.
