About a minute ago, I've seen a video in my Facebook account in titled A worth of sacrifice. It's all about a man who had a son that he loved so much for its the only child. He worked as a bridge master for a railroad. His son loved to watch the train and the people who traveled on them. One day, his son was standing nearby the bridge. his son noticed that the train was moving too fast, but his father was not able to see it earlier, the bridge was still hang up to the top because the there's a boat passed through it. His son called his dad saying Dad the train is coming too quickly but his dad was not in there because he checked at the machine in the other side of the station. So, what he did he got to the bridge to pull something on the machine to make the bridge go down. Meanwhile, his dad was back on his station where he can see the bridge he noticed now the train was really fast but when he looked for his son where he was standing he was gone. He looked to the bridge there he saw his son pulling the machine and tragic came. His son was inside the hole under the bridge. And now he leads to a terrible choice.. Allow everyone on the train to die or Pull the lever and allow his son to be crushed by the bridge..then he chose the latter.. The salvation of all required the sacrifice of one most dear..this is a reflection of God's love to mankind..
You? are you willing to sacrifice?...Share your ideas guys..^_^

The story you've shared is somehow sad especially on the part of the father but he has decided with the sincerest intention and without greed. And yes it is a sacrifice that he has made. He sacrificed the life of his son in exchange of the lives of many who was on that train. No word is enough to describe the true essence of that sacrifice and no man could ever do that except for the one who knows how to love unconditionally.
Just like the love of God to mankind, His love is eternal and unchanging. There's no greater love than that of the Father, who gave His only begotten son to set us free from the captive of sin. God sought and loved us first when we were yet sinner.
Human as we are, we have to admit that we are sinners and I know that within me if I were on that man's shoes I know that I couldn't allow my own son to die to save those people on that train. Now, we have this question to be answered within ourselves "Are we worthy of that sacrifice that God has done for us?". We have to think deeply and meditate so that we could find the answer.
Thanks for sharing and God bless!

Everytime i heard about this story i cant help myself but to get mad at the father and feel sorry for the child. I know that what he did was salvation of many but for return, his own son was killed. I want to blame the man for not doing his job well, if he is attentive to the job it wont happen to the little boy.

This is not an easy decision for someone to decide especially when it concerns your son. It takes a lot of courage and strong belief to God in order for a person to carry out such an ultimate sacrifice. This constitute the greatness of God who is very willing to sacrifice His only begotten son to save the world. Though in real life or in the human world I don't know if there's someone who is willing to do the same.

I'm with you..lots of courage, trust and faith in God to make this possible. Sacrifice is not an easy thing to do you must have a good encountered with God before you can make this in reality. Only God can do such sacrifices but if we just think how much He loved us I bet we can make this too!...Good day to you.

at first, that is just a simple story for me but when i have encountered God, i appreciate and amazed by His love for us. He gave up His Son to redeem us. Jesus Christ got crucified because of us. He made us the reason to be crucified.
our pastor says that sacrifice means you will give up something that really hurts you a lot because you held it as dear to you. i know this requires lot of commitment and trust but i know God will stand with me to make it bearable

That's true, your pastor is right. When you sacrifice you must give up on something that's very valuable to you even your own child. Know the story of Abraham? it's the same story to the video that I've seen yesterday but difference was Abraham was told by God to sacrifice his son Isaac. In the video the father was given a difficult choice. I know God has a purpose why did He do that. He measures how much faith we have for Him to allow that kind of situation. Just trust God and bare in mind He's just there when you needed Him the most!...have a nice day.. God bless

No matter how hard it might be but there are times that we are toyed by faith, like we have to make painful sacrifice from time to time. This will test our faith and our love to each other and to our creator.I think even if it will be hard to accept we need to make the ultimate sacrifice. If im in that situation i think i wont be able to do the same thing... I will have to sacrifice the lives others...Thats how i love my son selfish as i might be, but in the end i still remain true and honest with your question

Yeah, same here.. Whose father/mother wants their children to be hurt?. I guess none of them, how much more allowing them to die for the sake of others. For me, I won't allow it either. We're just being honest to ourselves it's a tough choice to see your child dying but that's how sacrifice means. Human as we are, we're selfish but the Lord our savior were not until now I must say. Watch the video and you can have mixed emotions too!..hehe^_^
