Looking for a Dominican Republic Pen Pal and General Discussion about Pen Pals

Hello is there anyone on here from the Dominican Republic? My daughter needs to do a report on the country and it would be great to find someone to answer questions about your beautiful country. What would be even better is if someone has a son/daughter/student around 12 years old to correspond with her. Just to answer a few questions. I think perspective from the young is invaluable. I think it would be a great learning experience for everyone. (of course no private information will be exchanged.
Also for those of you who did engage in the Pen Pal program as a young adult what where your experiences? I myself had a Pen Pal at her age from Egypt. He and I still correspond some 23 years later. It has been an awesome experience.

I had a couple of pen pals when I was a kid. One was from Alaska. His name was Bill and we wrote for a long time, but I guess just kind of out grew it. We didn't have a lot in common but we discussed the differences of where we lived.
Then I had a pen pal in Guam. I remember her whole name. We wrote back a forth for years. Then in the late 70's there was some sort of skirmish between the US and Guam and I never heard from her again. I wrote several times but never got a response.
